we are going to run hence that technique works
not it is a video the can you
all of them are not seen enough now
already seen the holograms
start working right away and good afternoon
veghel my name is menno zevenbergen
today is a bit different because I am standing
today with 200 people next to me that
other than what you go on a world trip and
you take other technology from via
back
I went on a trip four years ago
world tour of papuans
on madagascar top papua now genoa and me
took
a smartphone with digital camera and
even a tablet and I eventually came
in a village in Papua
and that is really in the middle of nowhere
and they had none for 6 years
Westerner seen more
you must imagine no six years
wesseling this is 4 years back to ice
you actually return ten years in time
with regard to technology
so it goes back 10 years in 2007
year of the iphone
the beginning of the smartphone knew
these people are not
these people did not yet have the internet
no electricity like no generator
to generate energy
Well no, I can do the cock and what is it
fun at the moment that you are not the local
you speak a papua more than
eight rounds of languages
that you can share something with
technology and technology
sharing is incredibly fun and crazy today
also do later with a tablet
it is also fun in the images you see
Emotion spray rid of it and I love it
very nice what technology and
communication can do but that tablet
I brought along for a very different reason
I really liked it when I did
internet I had for a moment with my
family could speak and then I can
For example, with my father I can
Skype and then I saw his face
how it went
and that feeling is very nice
this is two weeks later
and what your jerk sees the world becomes
more mobile than ever before and I know
sure I will return to papua there
that people now with smartphone it
walking around every year that I travel as
I more and more smartphones appear
and everyone has internet it is still going
not always good
and also is jans cooper and it is
internet is a little less than you put it
figure out and then you switch to sound
I know for sure that you are your wife
speaks that you know the voice equally and
the emotion feels and that goes for very
many people of a dear person
you recognize the voice and emotion right away
and there were times when the internet was like that
bad was also in the sound too
you have been on the road for 8 months
then you continue a text message
even a text message
just mean a lot and I do
my father as something to me
says for a typical style
typical style can be seen here
handwriting is not always the same
read but I know that from mine
father is
I got this note from my father back then
I went on a world trip and yes that went
to countries like papua, not always
just as safe
my father was secretly scared as well
I would come back that I was there
maybe he is the maybe yourself too
no longer are they also got one
charge a lot in combination with that
note and that emotion that a lot
note that I always feel and that is
what a very small message can do
let alone what a video can do
my father also always said no message
is good news
would mean’m doing good
nice to go but that means
also that I do not know if my father and
again
it will summarize in communication
terms it is the more you communicate
can transfer
the more emotional involvement she has
and from innovations are beautiful
writing notes and you can already
message portions to be at the moment
voice can add then you can also one
emotion to give that message a
when you have a video with a picture
then you can express much more
but still the hole is real
to live is very big you
memory that I have for my father
when he gave a note on that note
itself then it was special
the hole much you shrink and there is
therefore also from a hole and
communication technology and me
believe in that there is always that technology
is coming to make that hole small so that
we are ever very close to real life
come and that technology is in it
my eyes are also arriving
I just heard it meant too
reality mixed reality virtual reality
all terms but one thing is certain
the virtual world and the real world
there the boundaries and those worlds are fading
are getting closer together
he has several examples there
to be one of the finest examples
holograms and that means you
someone for this you can project and
there are two variants of a static one
variant and a dynamic variant that go
I show you with recent
examples
who knows him
anyone who thinks is always dead, everyone is watching
may this be 3 months back on one
concert and andré hazes became again
life awakened and I come to sing a song
that meant that a little bit of hazes
daughter roxeanne hazes point where the weather
were able to see performance but also fans
We could watch and go
posts on twitter that fans up to
tears were stirred to that moment
see that is what a hologram in potential
can mean to people me and mine
about fog
how are you going to miss this example ?
another layer and that is interaction
interaction between artist and the
other side the audience
we are also examples of it
microsoft with the gaulle along the old one
lens he is also next to one that is one
mixed reality glasses
that means you have glasses or
my glass screen in front of you in front of you
eyes
and with that you can put objects in 3d for you
show
the funny example is that state
father and daughter together
but that daughter is not there at all
that is projected in 3d and this is
what he sees man
the daughter is in another room and that
via 3D cameras along
animated and so can they
physical
actually play with each other like not
be together
who would want something like that too
I had that feeling, so I would be very happy
I like my father here in front of me
want to have
I can just speak to my father while
that is not there
and yes those examples are already there
we wanted to make another example with
three conditions
We have a red lens to work
gone
so that is still a relatively expensive de
technology but the price that goes
drop
two good use of cameras
that of choice available to everyone
so think of the camera in your laptop
or your camera
your smartphone so that anyone can do it
and three had the three months
time until text was nothing so then
the last one we went on now
ordinary
we are going to try and have you
Also just to see something and I hope it
hope it works
that is exciting
club can only
shop assistant
yes he stands then my father was now sitting
literally in front of my nose and the fun
is that my father is still alive
so my father just the stage
stand up then we go live chat with
my father in mixed reality in this is the
first time we show this
[Applause]
hi porridge a menu
what is it like today in this room
its well that is really imagining how
such different speakers
I thoroughly enjoy photos so yes
and if you can ask anyway, the
best club in the Netherlands who want to
Rotterdam
well then workbook acid this is not verdana
We are now going to continue because I have to
far into the story and we andreu
not in the 20 minutes 18 minutes
yes I’m going back to the bank
[Applause]
to explain as my father is
Sparta I’m good for Feyenoord
answer to
No, my father is happy and here too
a yes I hope it is very long so that
stay alone
and comes once a day that mine
father is no longer there
and yet I would really like to be at that moment
want to speak with my father
knowing well is not possible
more but I would sometimes like advice
to share my story with sounds
maybe very strange that I am with it
dead we interact
a lot of people do this this is one
photo from the san road dies out
Madagascar and this is actually a yes
a kind of tombs and that is also one
body in a once in years
they had this body out and tell
once the latest news
to the deceased person and in the Netherlands
we go to cemetery and then
there are those tombstones
and then we also talk to and enter the same
papua gas into the forest and go against it
the ancestors speak and maybe the
They also someone in the hall today
their in the room with ash and that too
occasionally touch or contradict
It is not that crazy about a life with one
to speak to a dear person
of course it should be better with the
hologram saw that is not yet precise
my father and he is also late
to see that is partly possible
but is also a theory about why it
sometimes a bit strange if you are
someone in a hologram sees someone on it
a person seems the more you marry
that is only at the moment
someone looks so much like their person but you
still could write that it is fake
then you get an anti-reaction that can
so happen but that’s why I go too
for example, show you how far away
can go
here we are also working on this
level the face to import and one
photo is the original photo of my father
and the other picture is a 3d animated
photo image
who thinks
that this image is the original photo
can you stand
Well that is not fifty-fifty yet
the three this is also the 3d animated
photo is already that people do not
know more about what is fake and what is real
that limit you go beyond that projection
becomes very realistic but we are missing
then of course a few parts and comes
another example of artificial
intelligence is a painting of
rembrandt
this has been painted last year or
made and through artificial
intelligence they have recognized patterns
in old rembrandt paintings with that
Patterns they have a new painting
developed and can you imagine
if you can create something like this I can do this
do not stand out from a real one
rembrandt
then you can also imagine that you
possibly a voice can fabricate her and
that is also possible
to go for a minute now
audio clip of a person leave
analyze by artificial
intelligence then you can that voice
mimic in other words and it
sounds a little bit like a robot
but you know that person that far
it will go down
that means we have a projection
We have the voice we miss
actually only the message
more and more messages that we share with
loved ones and this phone
whatsapp or facebook messenger
because gmail number on everything is digital
and if you are going to analyze these messages
you can also start a new conversation
even though that person is not in this
example of google they have for ten
read in filmstrips and duncan years
machine that you can use
talk and if you ask this machine
what is the goal to live then it is
goal forever life eternal life
imagine
Imagine that we are digital whole
can for life
that means the moment you die
and you may still want to be there for you
children
then that is possible at the moment they miss you
can or just talk to them
and that may mean for you
the moment your father or grandfather dies
I you when you miss it just
re life can talk and your story can
parts
I believed one I believe there
absolute but are becoming more and more digital
why should not we be digital ourselves?
to become
yes and is not a second oh for nothing
the lens
so what have we done before
my father and chatbot
there are still a number of disadvantages
we do this clearly in English
because speech recognition is not yet running
completely fluent, but we’re going to the woman
do not
my father and searching for such a travel
advice
what would be my next destination
I think youtube through the jungle i can you
do with love and
will be shown in the video like WMO
old advice is to introduce fans
last time you so my stories at bora
will find in cameroon in Congo
puja bambi in a bag this time i
really like
think we go and bring that note from
you and usa
that literally and you can drive that
literally and dear million genes
stood up
gigantic going to do lives right away
the world is running through why in her how
then how a way you are in
temporarily in dissatisfaction is a booming liam
thank you porridge and that you veghel
[Applause]
