Next I will give you one of my close friends
He has gone through many events in his life and has done a lot of self-search.
Work on the search for his own healing,
He also used his story to help us find our healing.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my friend Mr. Sam Johnson.

My story about my daughter, my hero.
I was born and raised in Charleston, Southern California.
Growing up in the south was not easy.
Your description of “bunny”
Seeing my parents hurt my mother,
He was beaten by a wire.
I began to numb myself with hatred and anger.
I remember the worst hit I had
It was because I was not defending my little brother at school.
I was lying in my room.
My father rushed to me, and grabbed me,
He started hitting me all over my body with a wire.
He was shouting, “Do not let anyone hurt your brother or your family.”
He kept beating me again and again.
I told him: “I told you I’m sorry, and that this will not happen again.”
But he did not stop beating me. He kept beating me with wire.
Finally I said to him: “Why do not you finish it and kill me.”
And then my mother came hurrying,
I held on to the wire, and I decided to let him go.
At that moment I promised myself that I would never strike again.
The beatings covered my body,
Some in the shape of S and others in the form of O. Some were cross and others were smiling.
I started looking for help, became angry and violent.
I hated the world and all the people.
I loved my family, but there was always a struggle
Because my father was the monster for me, and he was my enemy.
I remember one day I was back from work when I was 18 years old,
My father held a knife on my mother’s neck.
My mother’s hands were bleeding a lot,
Because she was trying to prevent the knife code from cutting her throat.
I looked at my father and said to him:
“You’re always fighting with my mother, why do not you come and fight with me?”
I remember him yelling at my mother,
He ordered her to leave the knife because he wanted to kill me.
I looked at my mother in the face, and said to her: “Leave the knife, Mom.”
She said to me, “My son, if I leave her, she will kill me.”
For her moment I learned that I had attracted his attention because he was very angry,
He was determined to pull the knife out of my mother’s hands.
Then, I looked at her in her eyes, and I learned that God with me,
I said to her, “Mom, please leave the knife.”
And indeed I left her.
My father brought the knife toward me to cut my throat.
Shed aside. My mother had a small bag beside her.
I grabbed the bag and hit him in the head with it.
Over the years I have hurt many people.
And caused a lot of harm.
I told my daughter that when she was six she would tell her.
She came to visit me on her birthday,
“My father, I’m six now,” she said to me.
I told her: “I know that.”
She said to me, “No, Father, I’m six now.”
I told her: “I know you’re six, I’ve sent you a greeting card and some money.”
She said to me: “No, Dad, you’re supposed to tell me why you’re in jail.”
It seemed as though my heart had jumped up and I was looking at her and her mother.
I sat down and told her exactly why I was in prison.
My six-year-old daughter attracted me to her, hugged me,
She told me how much she loved me.
I felt as if something was a strong inner movement.
I felt as if my heart had opened, and for the first time in my life,
I was able to see the harm it had done to my family and my daughter.
I was selfish because I thought they were happy and happy abroad,
And that I am the one who is in pain because I am inside the prison.
From that moment, I told my wife I wanted to get out of jail.
Then I started looking for the programs presented here at San Quentin.
She has joined programs such as the Education of the Offender and the Victim.
I also joined the Alliance for Change, a training course on social justice.
I also joined the anger management course that enabled me to control my anger attacks.
I also joined (Byron Katie) in “Accept What It Is” because I was
I have to know where I should be now in my life.
I’ve been here. I was fighting that situation.
My faulty lifestyle is what led me to jail.
It was a difficult journey. I started working on several things.
I joined the Men’s Advisory Council, which taught me how to talk to people;
I met the prison warden and his administration.
My family’s love and endless support helped me to mature.
I have become the man who represents you now, a different man.
A man full of love and compassion.
My family visits to me have become brighter.
I would like to share some special moments with you.
A few weeks later, my daughter came to visit me.
My daughter (Deryhya), her four years old.
I used to carry Dheriya on my shoulders and walk around the visiting room.
Walk around and walk around.
This was one of the happiest moments of my life.
Those moments made me really know how much my family loved me.
As I walk around the visiting room,
I felt wet in my head.
I said to my daughter, “What are you doing?”
She said, “Nothing”
(Laughter)
I kept walking around inside the room.
Then I felt wet again.
I realized then that my daughter was licking my head.
(Laughter)
I told her: “It’s good to stop, that’s disgusting.”
(Laughter)
They were wrong words.
She licked me again, and then she bitten me.
(Laughter)
I screamed and said, “Aaaah!”
I laughed and laughed.
I noticed that everyone in the visiting room was laughing.
They were watching my daughter’s behavior from the start.
And follow what you do,
I said to her: “Why did you do my part?”
She said to me, “Dad, your head looks like a candy.”
(Laughter)
So this is my part.
(Laughter)
My family love me, my hope and my prayers
Turn me into this person who is before you now.
In conclusion, I would like to thank you very much.
Peace, may God bless you.
