I am not a consultant, I am a whistleblower.
And I’m looking for other whistleblowers.
Why ?
Digital identity, you’ve been in for two seconds.
You use it every day,
What’s this ? It’s used for ? What are the drifts?
Where are we going with that?
Very concretely,
are we not putting ourselves in an absolutely incredible semolina?
Let’s start by knowing where we are.
Today, we are recognized in a simple way.
Why ? Because we have an identity card.
When I go to the airport, I show my ID card,
I am told, “Good morning, Monsieur Jerome de Labriffe.
Pass, circulate, there is nothing to have. “
That was yesterday.
Today, I am no longer a single person,
I am still Jérôme de Labriffe with my two legs and two arms,
but on the net, I have several profiles.
I’m going to have my Facebook profile, I’m going to have my Instagram profile,
I’m going to have my profile Meetic – Big Bunny, go see, it’s funny.
And as much as we had Monsieur Descartes in 1596, who amused us by saying:
” I think so I am “,
nowadays it is: “I type, so I am”.
Concretely, I will be able to leave on the net
all information possible and imaginable:
photos, information, traces, etc.
If I combine this informal information with formal information:
I am 1m70 tall, I weigh a few kilos too much,
all that will create my digital identity.
And this digital identity that will evolve as the years go by,
finally, it is much more valuable
that my photo and the simple information that I will have on my identity card.
So, very concretely,
I will end up with my digital profiles
aggregated to each other,
who, on arrival, will create my digital identity.
So, you’re going to tell me, “All right, so far, it’s okay. “
But imagine that you are my banker.
My banker tomorrow to lend me some cash,
will be much more interested in using my digital identity,
so all the traces I left.
Because when you are confronted with an appointment with your banker,
on Saturday morning, at dawn, to have a mortgage,
I guarantee you that you do not tell him anything.
Your banker, what he will look for,
it is to have the maximum of information on you.
He will retrieve them on Facebook. Yes.
So, finally, all that you are leaving on the Internet,
all the traces you leave,
are all information, so many values,
as many profiles, so many digital personalities,
who do and who will form tomorrow the value of what you are.
Your banker will have a lot more interest in lending to your Big Rabbit profile,
than Jerome Labriffe who arrives with his head a little torn
Saturday morning at nine o’clock.
Correct me if I’m wrong.
So tomorrow we are going to have a lot more risk,
because now imagine the risks it creates
to have not a person incarnate,
but finally profiles,
and it’s your profile tomorrow that will handle you.
Second question asked: citizen of a country or digital citizen?
And here we are.
Namely, you are now a French citizen, a Belgian citizen,
or what you want, you are a citizen of a country.
You belong to the fatherhood of a country.
Remember our Facebook friends, Instragram, etc.,
who retrieve all possible information imaginable about you,
that create value around you,
and who, potentially, tomorrow will be able –
tests are being done on it,
it’ll make you think a little –
will be able to create your digital ID card.
Your digital identity card, tomorrow,
can probably be addressed by Facebook
and used by the French State.
You are lawyers in the room, look at the questions that it poses.
Who will be able to make the laws?
Will Facebook, will be tomorrow, possibly
whoever will make the laws for the French state?
Why not ? It can be imagined.
Who will eventually recover the tax?
If it’s Mr. Facebook who has your identity
or who manages your identity,
we can imagine all the regal actions
that these famous economic actors
may replace instead of a State.
This digital citizenship
is already under study at Google.
It leaves you to think a little,
where will you be in a few years?
All the same, you are lawyers.
It’s up to you to think about these kinds of issues.
It is you who must create the reflection, the intelligence,
and the rules that we will have to put in place,
to try to thwart this type of action.
Last thing, remember, from what I explained to you,
what will be your position tomorrow?
That is, what will be your identity tomorrow?
Have you heard of “brain hacking”?
Does it cause you a little bit?
There are very good books that have been made on the subject,
and that show two things:
today you are going to have your incarnation.
You have your body, your brain, everything is fine.
We are developing the IoT, the famous connected objects.
Imagine these connected objects,
I transfer them to a huge computer –
imagine a quantum computer, it’s very fashionable and it happens –
a quantum computer
inside which I will insert layers of artificial intelligence.
You have also heard about it.
Mix the two,
we get what we call hybrid intelligence.
Hybrid intelligence, in fact,
is able to create hybrid identity.
That is to say, tomorrow,
you will not only be embodied and represented by who you are,
you will be incarnated and represented by who you are,
more data that has been transmitted
from the different sensors that you will have on you,
connected objects,
and on arrival, the mix of both by analysis,
will create around you the means to make you act,
beyond what your brain would have wished to do.
That is, I will be able to influence what you want,
by injecting some artificial intelligence,
some levels of artificial intelligence,
and so, I will change your identity.
So, today, we are able –
several experiments are done on the subject,
Google is in the lead, Amazon not far.
Do not forget Amazon Web Services, the famous AWS,
find out about it
to have a little idea what it means.
All of these technologies
is able today, and will be even more tomorrow,
to interact on your brain and on your identity.
I’m trying to fuck you,
I know, so much the better,
because finally, let’s say one thing,
we are no longer in the world of Yes-Yes.
Technology today,
is taking an increasingly important place.
On the other hand, you in this room are lawyers or future lawyers.
If today, the mouse has already taken your hands hostage,
if the screens have already taken your eyes hostage,
do not let them kidnap your brain.
And you are the people who will think about the framework, the laws and the rules
to put around this digital identity.
If I have one thing to ask you, please, be with me whistleblowers.
We need it, and we will need it.
We need to be smart about these topics
and not followers.
Thank you.
(Applause)
