Arthur Souza: Hi, my name is Arthur.
Gustavo Luz: And I, Gustavo.
What did you do when you were nine or ten?
AS: We talked to some people and it was very different from our time.
Did you imagine that you would have computers at school?
GL: Did you imagine using and creating things?
We create games.
AS: We program games.
GL: The school has changed for us with the shared education project
where we learn from “Minecraft”.
Our scheme now is the “Scratch”.
AS: Scratch is a game that uses commands and programming,
so we learn faster and improve our thinking
in all matters.
GL: Everyone can create a game; we create and teach our colleagues.
AS: Games are today’s logarithmic language.
We learn lots of things from games.
Creating a game is cooler still.
GL: A game is fun, teaches to do doing and challenges.
We like adventure, “puzzle”, “escape” and “quiz”.
AS: We like to do to learn, not to get things ready.
It is solving problems through challenges.
Playing together, we learn together.
That makes us think and create more.
GL: At school, we talk about what we like to play.
We get interesting subjects from day to day to create our game.
We do what you thought of the game and create.
We learn much better than just reading and copying from a book.
AS: The people in our town are curious,
and likes to learn different things, “ways” and radicals.
GL: Learning that way is cooler.
We chose to play a game about the environment using our creativity.
AS: Learning about garbage separation, for example, can be much more top
in front of the computer, programming or playing a game,
than in the classroom by copying a text.
GL: Playing is part of our life.
We want to play and learn from our teachers.
AS: Research shows that games in Brazil have a cross-platform profile:
74% play on more than one device.
The smartphone is the most popular;
then come the computers with 77%,
and the islands with 49%.
GL: In 30 years I do not know what I’m going to be doing,
but it will make everything more fun and different.
AS: We started as newbies.
To learn, we have to do and collect experience.
AS-GL: So school, leave your “like”,
click F5 and refresh.
(Applause)
