Have you ever wondered why a person walks straight?
And why some people go to old age, bent over, relying on a cane?
How our posture is formed and under what our body is adjusted?
I will answer these questions through my story.
I grew up in a sports family, in sports since childhood.
These are the various sections:
swimming, mountain skiing, karate, skates, biathlon.
In ten years I had a fracture of the right ankle,
and this led to the formation of scoliosis.
And my posture began to look a little bit like this.
Factors that affect the formation of our posture, a lot.
This is a sedentary lifestyle, overweight, weak muscles,
disruption of the internal organs,
psychosomatics or trauma – the way it was with me.
Everything that we do affects our posture.
Our view is constantly looking for the horizon,
and under it the body is adjusted.
For example, we are all sitting at the computer.
If a person sits hunched, stretching his neck forward,
then when he gets up, his posture will look like this.
This is the bearing of modern man.
I had another story.
At eleven years old parents were sent to biathlon,
and with 13 years of biathlon became the main occupation of my life.
Work with a rifle that weighs 5 kg, 2-3 hours a day
here in this situation
and an asymmetrical skate course on skis – they strengthened the development of scoliosis.
And by the age of 16 the curvature of the spine has progressed so much,
that one day we were very surprised:
when ordering tailoring of trousers
we found a difference in the length of the trousers about 5 cm.
And by 22-23 years, in addition to constant pain, discomfort in the back, protrusions,
I have also formed a hernia.
But I dreamed of an Olympic medal.
And I intensively trained.
And literally after strength training in the gym
I crawled out of them for a massage, and then went back to training.
And in order to help yourself,
I had to understand how our body is arranged.
And in our body there are muscle-stabilizers
and muscle-motors, or mobilizers.
Muscle-engines are external muscles, relief,
which you see, which we can touch.
They form our body.
And very often you hear in the fitness rooms,
that: “Oh, look at what cubes of the press, what biceps, what triceps.”
This is considered the standard of beauty.
But in fact, with hypertension or overexertion of these muscles
very often there is discomfort, back pain, and then protrusions and hernias.
Muscles are the same stabilizers – the muscles that form our corset.
These include the girdle of the abdominal muscle, which, with a contraction
pulls our belly like a corset, making it flat.
This is a multi-parted muscle of the back, which, when contracted, does not shorten
like all the other muscles, but lengthens, making it strong and flexible.
And also the respiratory diaphragm and the pelvic floor muscles are involved.
But these are not ordinary muscles, they are coexisting,
that is, when one muscle is activated, the others are automatically turned on.
I suggest you now all try to activate these muscles.
For this, please sit on the edge of the chair.
We shift, do not be shy, but the fact that you all fell apart here?
Sit down, sit down so that the back does not touch the back of the chair.
Put your feet, feet in parallel.
The feet look forward, the knees are directed forward.
Put your hands gently on your hips.
Now push the right foot to the floor, as if you want to leave a print.
Well done! Now push your left foot.
Excellent!
Now push with two feet.
Let’s get a little stronger – not so much, we do not need to break the floor.
Now push off at the same time with the buttocks from the chair,
as if you want to jump,
and reach behind the crown.
Here, push, push the feet, buttocks, the crown.
Now, realize if your stomach is tightened,
did you start to sit straighter.
If yes, then I congratulate you, you activated it –
it is the internal muscles of the cortex.
As you can see, they are not so easy to activate.
Thank you all!
(Applause)
Have they all earned money? Everyone has muscles, great! You are all alive.
They are not so easy to activate.
These muscles work by contracting the muscles of the foot, the muscles of the buttocks and the diaphragm.
And here an amazing chain is formed, that with simultaneous development –
Foot, buttocks and breath –
this allows us to form a correct posture.
And this discovery was, perhaps, the most amazing and significant
in my life and sports career.
And in 2007 I accidentally got into the Pilates class.
This is just an exercise system that aims
on the formation of the muscles of our corset.
I began actively adding these exercises to my workouts.
I have improved my back,
I have improved physical qualities.
And in 2010 in Vancouver, I finally won
his long-awaited Olympic medal.
(Applause)
I continue to actively use these exercises in my training.
And I would like you to look at your body in a new way.
As for the external beauty of our body: muscles, press, biceps, triceps
you saw the inner beauty of the muscles of your corset.
Remember my story!
At 5 cm the difference in length and the results I achieved.
And also remember that it is necessary to develop not only external, motor,
these are the relief muscles, but also the stabilizing muscles.
And for this, go, run, jump, swim, dance.
Develop your body in many ways.
And then you will walk right and your gaze will be directed forward
in the horizon and slightly up, to where the moon is.
And the reverse side of this moon
will be like a symbol to remind you,
that even the most ordinary things –
our body – we can look absolutely new.
Thank you!
(Applause)
