How To – assemble mango for salad from 30-Minute Meals

00:00:04hi I’m Georgie I’m from Jamie’s butene

00:00:07and I’m going to show you how to pair

00:00:08mango for salad so first we’re going to

00:00:11peel the mango so for this you want a

00:00:13speed peeler or potato peeler works

00:00:16great I’m turning it round I’m peeling

00:00:21off in big strips you don’t want any of

00:00:30the green bits that’s quite bitter so so

00:00:33you can start seeing that lovely yellow

00:00:36flash keep going

00:01:01we’re going to cut the mango into long

00:01:03strips and I’m gonna be putting it in a

00:01:06lovely Asian style salad with bean

00:01:08sprouts and coriander but you could just

00:01:11cut it this way for a fruit salad and

00:01:13have it as a sweet or savory it’s just a

00:01:15generic way of cutting your mango

00:01:18mangoes have a stone down the middle

00:01:20they’re not like peaches or problems and

00:01:22they’ve got an actual stone but it’s

00:01:23runs down the middle so get the mango

00:01:25like this and then trays but just use

00:01:28your knife to guide you and cut the

00:01:30cheek away as you can feel there that’s

00:01:32sort where the stones start just there

00:01:34so turn the mango over and do the other

00:01:36cheek as well and you can cut the flesh

00:01:39off the stone so just like that this is

00:01:42quite firm mango feels a bit wide but

00:01:46just be careful and then we’re just

00:01:48gonna cut it into long strips like this

00:01:55and you can cut them again if you want

00:01:57your mango pieces a bit thinner like

00:02:01that or just have a variety of chunks

00:02:03and sizes be nice as well

00:02:21right and then we’ve got our stone here

00:02:25and there’s still a little bit of flesh

00:02:26on there so hold it up and then just cut

00:02:30away from the stone so hold it up right

00:02:33and use the stone as a guide so as you

00:02:36can see there that’s starts curving

00:02:39around now you want to you know get the

00:02:43most out of your mango so keep carving

00:02:46away and stop about there that’s fine

00:02:52you can discard that and you know just

00:02:54chop however you like to all sort of

00:03:03erratic shapes and sizes I have some

00:03:06chunky bits as well and then what I’m

00:03:08going to do now is just add it to a bowl

00:03:10for the bean sprouts and picked

00:03:12coriander leaves I’m just going to add

00:03:14up my add my um my strips of mango like

00:03:18so and there we go and I’ve got some

00:03:24chopped red chili just for a little bit

00:03:25of a kick put that in there as well left

00:03:33the season and toss that all together

00:03:39and then this particular recipe I’ve

00:03:43toasted some cashew nuts with them just

00:03:47dry roasted them a little bit of oil and

00:03:49a bit of honey I’m just going to add

00:03:53back to our salad and then dress it with

00:03:55some lime juice and sesame oil

00:04:08I’m just gonna make a little dressing

00:04:11I’m going to be these little bit of lime

00:04:22my squeeze of lime

00:04:28a little bit of soy sauce a bit salty

00:04:34sweet the honey nuts and a drizzle of

00:04:37sesame oil as well gorgeous and just mix

00:04:44it one more time make sure everything

00:04:46gets coated the acid and the oil all the

00:04:48flavors and there you go how to pair

00:04:52mango for a delicious salad
