00:00:08hi I’m Evan Carmichael and welcome to
00:00:11another edition of ask Evan in today’s
00:00:13video I’m going to answer question from
00:00:15what my reader is Jackie who had a
00:00:16question about Twitter in Jackie’s
00:00:18question is my problem is getting
00:00:20legitimate followers I feel like I write
00:00:22meaningful posts but people don’t really
00:00:24click on them the followers i do have
00:00:26your people i followed were nice enough
00:00:27to follow me back I don’t want to use
00:00:29fanny software to acquire more followers
00:00:32either I want people to read my posts so
00:00:35Jack you a couple tips for you right now
00:00:37my twitter feed is something around
00:00:3945,000 people on growing so I want to
00:00:41give me some advice than what i’ve done
00:00:42that hopefully will help you as well the
00:00:45first is you need to make your tweets
00:00:46interesting and valuable right if some
00:00:49is going to be following you it’s gotta
00:00:50be value ID for them there’s got to be a
00:00:52reason to want to follow you and
00:00:54actually read what you’re writing right
00:00:55so it’s kind of common sense it has to
00:00:57be something that is tied to your brand
00:00:59and it is interesting and viable helps
00:01:02their lives somehow the second thing I
00:01:05would do is try to get them engaged and
00:01:08try to ask questions so that they’re not
00:01:09just reading things but they can
00:01:11actually be involved with some of the
00:01:12posts that you’re creating so some some
00:01:15of the ones that I put up recently and
00:01:16you try to tie it to your brand is still
00:01:18make it fun so someone ones that i put
00:01:20up are now what’s your favorite food to
00:01:22snack on while you’re working or what
00:01:25did you do today to grow your business
00:01:27and it’s something people can answer in
00:01:28a couple words but it gets them involved
00:01:30so i’m not just posted hey check out my
00:01:32latest blog post on XYZ i’m asking them
00:01:35a question they can answer it quickly
00:01:37and if they’re involved and they feel
00:01:40like they’re engaging in dialogue then
00:01:42the next time i post something which
00:01:44might be a blog post link the more
00:01:45likely to one click on it so you want to
00:01:47find easy ways quick question is a tie
00:01:50into your brand and they can answer in a
00:01:51couple words you don’t want them writing
00:01:53a huge essay you can on twitter the
00:01:56longer the the response and less likely
00:01:57they’re going to want
00:01:58it’s a quick you know want to word
00:02:00answers that they can post and gets them
00:02:02starting to interact with you and
00:02:04engaging with you on Twitter and your
00:02:06brain the last thing we do is try to set
00:02:08up a schedule of tweets so that there’s
00:02:11variety coming and you’re blind and all
00:02:12different types of tweets going out
00:02:14there so from my schedule something you
00:02:16might need to learn from usually in the
00:02:18morning i’ll post something that’s a
00:02:20famous entrepreneur quote and that ties
00:02:21into my grand well so it could be
00:02:23lessons from double choc Grover Winfrey
00:02:25or whoever it is a quick inspirational
00:02:27quote to help people start their day
00:02:28then in the early afternoon i’ll post
00:02:31something related to my site so it could
00:02:33be a blog post or got the piece of
00:02:35content i created that is promotional
00:02:37you know helps me people click on it but
00:02:38it’s also value why i’m not saying go
00:02:40buy whatever product i’m linking to
00:02:43something that i might have created that
00:02:45I think is strong value I and then in
00:02:48the late afternoon i’ll post something
00:02:49that is more engaging so last time a
00:02:52question like what did you do today to
00:02:53grow your business and try to get people
00:02:55to interact with that content so usually
00:02:57that would be a staple of my tweeting
00:03:00schedule I’ve at least those three going
00:03:01out on a monday to friday type of aces
00:03:03and then if i come across other content
00:03:06that i would like it could be an article
00:03:08that i’ve read that i want to share that
00:03:09i didn’t create and there’s no interest
00:03:12for me to want to promote it aside from
00:03:13the fact that i think my readers will
00:03:15like it and find value in it then i’ll
00:03:17tweet those up and i won’t just tweet
00:03:19the article title i’ll add my own two
00:03:22cents to it so you’re you’re making
00:03:23yourself a little bit of an expert on
00:03:25top of it so you’re sharing something
00:03:26you find interesting i got in your own
00:03:28comment as well as people are looking
00:03:30for that differentiating factor and
00:03:31they’re following your style like what
00:03:33you have to say hopefully you can build
00:03:35up that following so those i’ll send out
00:03:38as they come up as well and i use a
00:03:39program called buffer app it’s a free
00:03:42tool hbu ffp RPP and what it will do is
00:03:46allow you to schedule your tweets so
00:03:47that you’re not tweeting everything all
00:03:50at once if you read five articles once
00:03:52you like them all you can have them
00:03:54it out over the course of the day or the
00:03:56next two days or whatever it off and you
00:03:57want and so you’re not bombarding your
00:03:59audience in too many comments or tweets
00:04:01but over a period of time go get it so
00:04:04hopefully that helps I’m curious to see
00:04:07how it works out for you and if it helps
00:04:08you grow your Twitter list because I
00:04:10know it’s really work for me if you guys
00:04:12liked the video please give it a thumbs
00:04:14up and it also love to hear your
00:04:15thoughts feedback if you want to leave a
00:04:17comment below the video stay tuned for
