Homemade Spetsnaz “Ballistic Knife”

00:00:15for this project you’ll need a metal

00:00:17crutch a dremel tool paracord steel rod

00:00:23metal springs a small metal hinge

00:00:27electrical tape and a lighter

00:00:34project is removing the extension rail

00:00:36from the crush I did this by using a

00:00:39drill tool to drill out the two rivets

00:00:42that hold it in place and then basically

00:00:46just tap them out with a screwdriver or

00:00:50whatever tool this is the handle to the

00:00:57mechanism basically all I did was take a

00:01:02cut portion of the extension rod five

00:01:06spaces long and secured it using

00:01:10paracord I just wrapped this around

00:01:12twice with equal lengths on each side

00:01:15and then once again I went around on

00:01:18opposite sides putting each end through

00:01:21the hole and then tied a knot at the end

00:01:25which works as the safety because this

00:01:29can go over the top and prevent the

00:01:33projectile from launching accidentally

00:01:36for the trigger basically what I have is

00:01:40some more paracord and I just melted the

00:01:47two ends together and use some

00:01:49electrical tape to make a nice snug fit

00:01:56the last part to this project is the

00:01:59projectile itself I haven’t figured out

00:02:02how to get a knife in there yet I don’t

00:02:07really know if I want to because it’s

00:02:08pretty dangerous but basically what you

00:02:10have to do is I took a drill and drill

00:02:15it on each side try and make them as

00:02:20parallel as possible and that if you can

00:02:25see down in there is the stopper where

00:02:28it prevents the springs from going any

00:02:31further so basically you just want to

00:02:35superglue that in there however and then

00:02:39right here is the button that you used

00:02:44to fire you put it into the

00:02:48launching handle and then it clicks into

00:02:52one of the holes and you push it down

00:02:54using the trigger to release it so I

00:02:59just put really simple just a piece of

00:03:02cardboard or whatever to prevent the

00:03:05other rivet from going through this hole

00:03:12after all of your parts are built you

00:03:16don’t need to take your four springs

00:03:19your last one has to be cut down a bit

00:03:23to allow everything to fit in perfectly

00:03:26so you load smallest one first with the

00:03:33shortened down and then just load

00:03:36everything also add this portion and

00:03:44then you’ll want to use a flat surface

00:03:49to make sure that whenever you’re

00:03:55forcing the launch the projectile into

00:03:59the handle that you’re not gonna lose in

00:04:04stability so you just push down it snaps

00:04:10into place

00:04:12so I had a little bit of red foam that

00:04:18has a sticky side to kind of show that’s

00:04:23whenever it’s loaded and kind of armed

00:04:26this is just kind of like carrying

00:04:27position and I’ll show you guys in a

00:04:31second what this thing can do

00:04:43here’s the first test fire all I have to

00:04:48do is press down on these red pad here

00:04:53which is gonna push down on the button

00:04:56and there’s also I’m trying this with

00:05:00the second switch also which is kind of

00:05:02like a safety so my pointer finger I’m

00:05:06pressing down on the first button and

00:05:09then in a second and we shouldn’t aim

00:05:12and shoot here’s the close-up of that

00:05:19first shot you can see that the

00:05:24projectile basically Jam itself into the

00:05:31cardboard as far as it could but then

00:05:33the two metal prongs inside kept it from

00:05:36going any penetrating any farther

00:05:39here’s another attempt this time I took

00:05:43the cardboard that’s holding the second

00:05:46safety pin from coming through and I

00:05:52just basically put a blow dart needle

00:05:57like I said so we’ll see if it sticks I

00:06:01don’t think it’s gonna fly straight so

00:06:09basically that’s not gonna work

00:06:11I think it’s the reason it’s just the

00:06:14weight and but it’s a cool concept the

00:06:20next one I’m going to do is a distance

00:06:26this is a distance of probably less than

00:06:3130 feet maybe like 25 26 I’m gonna see

00:06:35if I can hit it

00:06:43this is what the last shot I did from

00:06:47the 26 foot range did it still was able

00:06:51to pierce the cardboard box and it’s

00:06:54actually similar to the 10 foot range

00:06:56which is pretty impressive I think
