The place is more light than I thought

(Laughter)

Welcome! OK.

The word “classification” is defined by the lexicon as follows:

A name or phrase used to mark a person or something

Especially those that are restrictive and inaccurate.

We all passed as human beings with experiences where others ranked us

Or general rating experience.

Words may be more offensive than real physical pain.

In fact, physical pain may be treated over time

Words can remain forever.

Humans tend to categorize things they do not understand.

The classification is similar to walking in a forest

“Awesome, great work!”

You may know a bird, or even a tree,

Honestly will never understand

The depth to which the roots of that tree can reach,

Or height that the bird can reach.

I remember when I was rated several times

I remember where it was.

At that moment, we think it is just words we say.

Words were part of a sentence.

But when I was older, I became close to my name

And part of my structure.

I did not want people to use these terms to define me,

Because when I look in the mirror,

I do not see these ratings and their negative connotations.

But I simply see myself.

For example, my behavior gave me an “acute typo”

In fact,

I was simply living my life to the fullest.

I live the moment, wary of the future

But I did not allow myself to be constrained by my fear of the unknown.

People do not seem to understand that.

On the contrary, they are categorizing me.

I always feel that describing a “sharp typo” is an insult

Because when you see a wild animal,

Do not want to hug him.

But your instinct drives you to run.

Animals are also often killed, placed in cages or are caught.

I was also described as “smart” all my life,

Because I am always told that I am the smartest one in the family,

Or the smartest one in the group.

This is considered very stressful and disturbing.

I always felt that I always had to live up to expectations,

Which I will never get out of.

I begin to feel nervous about school,

And towards getting good grades

Which people see as proof of “intelligence.”

When someone constantly tells you that you are “intelligent”

The expectations people place for you continue to rise,

So, I became afraid of becoming stupid.

How to turn from intelligent to stupid

And expect people to treat you the same way

Or the same reaction, or look at you the same way

It’s not possible.

The descriptions that have caught me not only came from pressure.

But also from the color of my skin.

They called me “the angry black girl” for many times I can not count.

Most of the time, I was not so angry.

I was simply talking about what was going on in my mind, and I was talking about fixed facts.

But people did not seem to understand that either.

Instead, you are classified on the basis of sex and race.

This was a lesson to learn.

But people do not want you to talk about certain topics,

Or are afraid to change their opinions.

They will categorize you

To silence you,

Lest people listen to you.

They classify you.

The term “black” goes beyond race.

If there is something to describe me, it is that I am a Brownian and I am an African American

But in society, education, family,

The term “black” is often used to describe something negative.

This is no secret.

Many people in our societies have learned to fear black people,

Or believe that all black women are angry,

Or that all black children are lazy and prone to delinquency,

They lack domestic training.

These are just some of the labels that I was born with.

Black children have learned

That proper education is not a privilege or a right for them.

Again, this is no secret.

This is clear and obvious but people choose to ignore it.

My mother had several conversations with me and my brother

Whether we are black or about potential discrimination

Which we could be exposed to every day abroad.

Whether by looking for us by the police,

And follow us in the shops,

Staring at us on the train,

As if we did not belong to that place.

Then I realized that classification was a style

Makes people in constant denial.

It is a tool,

To control one’s mind and opinions, which makes it extremely dangerous.

We need to take our time as a society,

To understand and realize that words are already injuring,

The classification of people is possible to stick to them

Throughout their lives.

Also, classification occurs in the subconscious,

But deliberately.

There is a huge difference

Between classifying someone to destroy his image,

And classify one because you do not understand it.

Thank.
