the big changes
begin with the awakening of
awareness
this is the most important choice that
I stayed to live in one of the environments
most complex of the modern world and without
doubt at least latin america
If I am from Venezuela that country to the north
from the south of the continent that in some
moment was welfare reference and
progress for the region but that
unfortunately today has a picture a
little different and the truth is that it is
undeniable the adverse the context what
difficult in our history and how hard
our reality we have occupied the
pages of different media
recently communication from and social
however that is not the story that I
I want to tell you today that story that
although it is true and it is very real
is not the only one that is happening in my
country and the truth is that sometimes we
It’s a bit difficult to see beyond the
conflict because conflict makes noise
because the conflict is there
but not for that the other realities
they are no longer part of the
painting the story – told in my country
we are living millions of
Venezuelan millions of Venezuelans who
we are giving a silent fight but
heroic and forceful of each space
armed men who enjoy all
the days and have been found
builders of his country fight from which
it is spoken in the block in paris its
history and the shared bald because
final and who we are and has been
discovered as Thursdays as the
everyday like the one that simply because
yes maybe more complicated
[Music]
to know if that and the truth is not me
makes it easy for him yes it has been slow
awakening in a way sometimes seems
Paradoxically it is in the 21st century
in the middle of the fourth revolution
industrial where the entire planet is
talking about robotics and intelligence
artificial vehicle trones
self-employed
we have had to talk
again learning that we believe that
already principles are assimilated
we thought we already had for example
freedom freedom in a country of
liberators
freedom understanding that it is not that
word they use to decorate the
statues of the próceres that be pretty
not understanding freedom as the struggle
of being able to choose from the greatest
like who this government or how much
they do it until the smallest
like what do you want for dinner
today in the supermarket
in this time we have rediscovered the
meaning of the word homeland not as
something bombastic and propaganda for
paste on a poster we have not discovered
that the country is what hurts you here in
the center of the chest that makes you
understand that a country is not your land
but its people
in this time we have also understood
a valuable lesson and that is that
fragile democracy but that we
we have an incredible civic spirit and
that it’s not about going to elections every
four or five years
it’s about finding each space to
actively defend our ideals of
peace
this learning has been so profound
that even concepts like
solidarity has a new meaning
because today we discover again which
we are united among ourselves
today solidarity means sharing
your food or a medicine that saves
familiar because you do not get them but
we also learned the immense infinite
wonderful and beautiful solidarity
our brothers countries of america
latina that has sheltered us in different
spaces and that have created endless
initiatives that somehow supports
our fight
one of the lessons maybe more
difficult that we have had to learn in
this time perhaps the hardest in the
vulnerability in an oil country and of
great riches in the past
understanding that what is not cared for
loses and loses we find ourselves
suddenly naked without any certainty and it’s
there where as low as we could
to fall we have to get up and find ourselves
again from our identity to
forge a new destiny
the truth is that during this time the
learnings have not all come from
hit is not like we all
we woke up and suddenly we learned the
lessons has been little by little and has
come from different citizens
I want to give you some examples
because these stories are told less
for example the agenda builders
social all those organizations without
for profit that while they have always
existed since the crisis have
proliferated more and are led every time
for younger and have the answer
to the food crisis the creation of
Food canteens in sectors
popular or the creation of platforms
to share drugs among
people
the transformation of space
as a way to promote peace the
truth is that even in moments
more critical as recently in the
protest spaces we had were
thousands of Venezuelans who joined
initiative called green helmets
that basically or knew about first
help or learning to approach the
means of confronting the
protests and try to provide relief to
any Venezuelan regardless of their
political dye
during these protests we
We lost more than 100 Venezuelans but
could be many more but for
these everyday heroes but is that
we also have the students that
they understood that it’s not just the academy
the classrooms and ideas but they grabbed
that backpack filled him with sleep and
they took to the streets to demand the country
in which journalists believe and
graphic reporters who have given a
tireless struggle for the freedom of
expression every day and they seek
any channel in any space
to give voice to those who do not have it
from his photograph of his writing
even public personalities that
have been commissioned to be an amplifier
what’s happening
setting positions sometimes very
complicated Venezuelans abroad
that have come out and are now in
all corners of the world and between
they are in any space
and begin to form initiatives that
contribute to the development of the country and
I have to say what one of my groups
favorites because I’m part of it, we’re the
entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs are
those crazy
maybe the lunatics maybe we think
firmly that through the initiative
private we can create
economic development for our country
but we’re a little crazy maybe because
we decided to do this in the country with the
higher inflation of the planet earth in the
even greater economic contraction
larger than the one that had states
united in 1930
we decided to undertake
we decided that it was not an option
complain but build an agenda of
proactive action and where we
they want to force you to talk only about the day to
day and tomorrow and what we have in
the table we want to talk about
future we want to talk about the issues that
sometimes they forget like for example
talk about fintech and digital payments
as an answer to the problems
cash
that we do it in to emerge the start
or that I’m fortunate to lead in
where through supporting the
digital transformation of the small and
medium company and facilitate payments
we think we are doing too
our contribution to a productive economy
but there are many initiatives
of smart city and middle of chaos
who wants to improve the life of the citizen
or even preventive medicine and
primary care to alleviate the crisis
hospitable
the truth is that it could happen here all
the afternoon mentioning all the groups
that we are building country all the
days and I would be short you know why
because in the end there are millions and millions
the Venezuelans who wake up all
the days and in the midst of adversity
they separate and put on their biggest smile and they
They fill with dignity and go to work and
take care of their children and open businesses and
now at the empanadas stand and they create
new projects
nobody do not let anyone tell you no
they can dream I do not know that nobody takes them away
the desire check not let pa Lante
nobody make us lose as Venezuelans
our humanity and our solidarity
that defines us because if you go today
to venezuela they will receive it with a
huge smile in the midst of adversity
and that for me are everyday heroes
The truth is that in the face of this reality
in front of these rebels who respond to
the
to the difficulty with joy and the
challenges with proposed
I have no other option than
feel optimistic about the future of my
country and I know I know it’s crazy to feel
optimist about the future of venezuela
but the truth is that it is impossible not
do it because I feel that venezuela
and in return and it did not change because our
environment has changed and because our
situation has changed did not change because
today there are still not many
people living in conditions that
nobody should not changed because you see
all good on the outside but it did change
because every day there are more Venezuelans
that a different agenda is added and that
understand that the change transcends what
circumstantial that the change begins
also the intern because when this
believe me it will pass and then there
we will value what we lost and what
now it cost us to win again and we
we will finally turn into the evolution of
what one day we were impossible not
feel optimistic about that I do not know
what is the immediate ending this story
but what I do know is that today we
we found more committed more
determined more supportive and more
aware of what we are going through and
what we have to do this story
of citizens who simply
wake up in an adverse environment with
the absolute determination to own
of his future is a tribute to all
everyday heroes of venezuela de mexico
and uruguay of chile peru of our
continent
even the whole world because in the end
in this story adversity can
have any name adversity
can be poverty adversity can
be a political situation
Adversity can also be a
natural disaster like a terrible
earthquake like a hurricane
the truth is that we are full of
stories that have adversity but yes
look more closely next to those
stories that are full of adversity
we are also full of heroes
everyday and these stories that also
they deserve to be told
like that of all the great
changes of humanity
they start with a deep awakening of the
awareness
many thanks
[Applause]
