OSHO: The Philosophy of Nonviolence

presents

The Philosophy of Nonviolence

I am not a philosopher.

The philosopher thinks about things.

It is an approach from the head.

My approach is that of not thinking.

It is just the opposite of

philosophize.

It is not about thinking about things or ideas

but with a clarity

what comes if you

put aside your thinking

when you see through silence

not by logic.

Seeing is not thinking.

The sun comes up there

if you think about it you miss it

because while you are about it

thinks

you go away from it.

You can think in terms of thinking

driving miles

and thoughts go faster

than anything else.

If you see the sunrise

one thing must be certain

that you do not think about it.

Only then can you see it.

Thinking becomes a veil over the eyes.

It gives its own color

his own idea on reality.

It does not allow reality to reach you

it imposes itself on reality

it is a deviation from reality.

That’s why no philosopher ever

was able to know the truth.

All the philosophers

have thought about the truth.

But thinking about the truth

is an impossibility.

Either you know it, or you do not know it.

If you know it

it is not necessary to think about it.

If you do not know it

how are you going to think about it?

A philosopher who thinks about the truth

is just a blind person

thinking about light.

If you have eyes

if you do not think about light, you see it.

Seeing is a completely different process

It is a by-product of meditation.

That’s why I would be mine

way of life never one

call philosophy

because it’s nothing with philosophy

has to do with.

You could call it filosia.

The word filo means love

sofie means wisdom

love for knowledge.

In filosia, ‘filo’

means the same as love

and “sia” means seeing: love

not for knowledge but for being

not for wisdom

but for an experienced.

So that’s the first thing

must be remembered.

Nonviolence is a philosophy

for Mahatma Gandhi

for me it is not a philosophy

it is a filosia.

I was always in that

fight with Gandhian

philosophers and thinkers.

Gandhi wrote in his autobiography

the title Experiments with the truth.

That is a complete absurdity

you can not experiment with truth

If you are quiet

is truth there is all its fullness

in all its glory.

And when you are not quiet

is truth absent.

If you are quiet

seems the truth

not as an object for you.

If you are quiet

you suddenly recognize

that you are the truth.

There is nothing to see.

The one who sees is what is seen

the observer is observed

that duality no longer exists.
