Oosho: Books that I have loved
I have loved reading from my own childhood.
My personal library is private
Composed of a hundred and fifty thousand rare books
Of all religions, philosophies, poetry, literature.
I have read them all,
But without any purpose; I enjoyed it.
My dad used to go
To Bombay at least three or four times,
He was asking all the boys,
“What would you like?”
He was also asking me,
“If you want anything
I can write him down from Bombay. “
I never asked him.
Once I said, “I just want you

More humane,
Less fatherly, more friendly,
Less dictatorship, more democratic.
Bring a little more freedom to me when you return. “
He said, “But these things are not available in the market.”
I said, “I know it’s not available in the market,
But these are the things I want: a little more freedom,
A little longer rope
Fewer orders, fewer commandments,
And a little respect. “
No child
He has prayed for respect.
You ask for games,
Sweets,
Clothes,
Bicycle,
And things like that, you bring them,
But these are not the real things that will make your life
Pleasant.
I asked him for money only when
I wanted to buy some books;
I did not ask for money for anything else.
I asked him,
“When I ask money for books
You’d better give it to me. “
He said, “What do you mean?”
I said, “I simply mean you
If you do not give it to me then I have to steal it.

It was a strange thing to see in my house.
My little brothers and sisters were all the protectors of my books
When I was not there:
No one can touch my books.
They were cleaning it and keeping it

So when I need any book I can find it.
And it was a simple matter because I respected them very much,
They could not show their respect in any other way
More than being a respect for my books
I said, “The real problems are the big boys
My uncles, my uncles,
My father’s sisters,

I hated the very idea that someone was writing in my books.

Why I stopped reading in 1980
