It seems that many of you are
Interest in interpersonal vocabulary,
Also interested in verb phrases,
So I have a wonderful idea.
I think, combine them into one (interpersonal vocabulary, verb phrase)
Because there are too many such phrases
So we only talk about 12 today.
What I want to say is that there are relative foundations and some of them are relatively common.
Relatively advanced
So if you’re in some high school like IELTS, Cambridge
Use these phrases in such exams
Then you are likely to have a good result
This is because these are the “fulcrums” for learning English.
Before we start

Well, let’s start today’s course
The first verb phrase is “ask out”
It is separable, so “ask somebody out”
That means “about someone going out”
For example, he asked me to go to a party,
Then we are no longer separated
The next one is “take somebody out”
Can be translated as “Taking someone out on a date”
So the two meanings are similar
On his first date, he took me to a restaurant
So the person who took someone out
It’s natural to pay for it
Naturally paid for
I actually prefer to say “split the bill” (cost sharing)
So there is no worries
And I like to do this
Because I don’t want to “lead on”
“lead somebody on” means to mislead someone
Let them think they still have the opportunity
Then this relationship will probably develop elsewhere
In my reality, that will not happen
and so…
So if I continue to promise these appointments
And let this person pay for me
When I did not continue to develop the intention of this relationship
I will mislead him
Then we look at a more informal
“hook up”
“Hook up” naturally means
Relatively casual relationship with someone
and so…
If you say “I seduce him last night”
This may not be a serious relationship
But “impulse”
But please, feel free to
Then look at another “drift apart”
This is more sad
“drift apart” means losing intimate feelings
You know, when you are in a close love
Then you alienated.
This is clear at a glance.
You are not meeting
So you can ask you in others
“Use this phrase when you broke with your predecessor”
Oh, we just alienated each other
We embarked on a separate path
Below, I said “break up”
Below, I said “break up”
This means that a feeling is coming to an end
It’s over and it’s finished.
You can also say “split up”
We broke up last year
He broke with me because I was too violent.
But if you reconciled, you “make up”
So you break first and then you reconcile
“make up” means reconciliation
But we’re getting better and we’ve become better since then
This is very good
“To put up with”
“To put up with” followed by someone or someone
Says “tolerance”
So why did you break up?
I can’t put up with him.
That is, “I can’t tolerate him snoring”
The next one is “to cheat on somebody”
A fly
The next one is “to cheat on somebody”
If you “cheat on somebody,” you are not loyal to him.
Or if you are “cheated on”, it means he has deceived you
Then this shows that someone is not loyal to you
They like others behind you
This is by no means a good thing
You can say they are really “messed you around”
“To mess somebody around” means treating someone in a very bad way
Maybe one day you say you want to be with him
Then the next day you change your mind
He is waiting for your action
You let him ignite hope
However, you once again let him down.
It’s best not to neglect anyone
The next one is what most of us want to do
This is “To settle down”, which means
Finally found a stable feeling and stayed there
Enjoy a quiet and relaxing time
So your date is over.
You have experienced many appointments and seen many people
You finally found a person you really like
And hopeful true love, and settle with him
Maybe you start building a family and move into a new home together
And get married, anyway
“Settling down” is naturally a beautiful thing
