1-minute steak – Jamie Oliver’s Home Cooking Skills


00:00:00right guys this is all about preparing

00:00:02and cooking a minute steak these are the

00:00:04minute states the early are is is is not

00:00:08mistakes but cut really really thin so

00:00:10when they cook really quite fastly cook

00:00:13in a matter of minutes that’s the whole

00:00:14idea

00:00:14the why I’m gonna do is make them even

00:00:17thinner so they cook super super fast so

00:00:21the first thing I’ll do is just trim off

00:00:22any sinew any any of this sort of fatty

00:00:27send you a bit just cut off the steak

00:00:31let me go

00:00:33if that doesn’t bash it doesn’t worth

00:00:38any when you hit it and you just take

00:00:39it’s quite lean let’s trim a little bit

00:00:41there okay it’s quite thin in a minute

00:00:45but I want it to be slightly thinner so

00:00:48what I’m going to do take a bit of

00:00:49greaseproof paper just lay it on top of

00:00:57the mean right now so you can get

00:01:02special tools to do this with especially

00:01:03for batting on me but I’m there’s no

00:01:05need to buy one of your saucepan it’s

00:01:07just the same thing and all you do is

00:01:15put a little bit thinner turn it over if

00:01:19you like give it back on the other side

00:01:22right we’re ready to go okay

00:01:29gonna put that back on them on the paper

00:01:32and it’s time for you guys to have a go

00:01:34so ride you want to pick a steak little

00:01:40trim

00:01:47lovely great stuff okay you get to go

00:01:51there give it a turn over and do it the

00:02:07other side perfect good work and the

00:02:14next step is seasoning it and getting it

00:02:16ready to go on one pan and then we’re

00:02:18going to cook it so we need to get these

00:02:20pans off we’ll put them on high heat if

00:02:25you pop your steaks back on the board

00:02:29this one to get them ready to go in the

00:02:33pan what we’ll do just take a little bit

00:02:35oil okay on the meat and sprinkle it

00:02:42with a bit or so

00:02:47on that and just rub ahead

00:02:51get on the other side too

00:03:00oops salt and pepper

00:03:06that’s ready to cook you want to season

00:03:09it only just before you’re going to cook

00:03:11it otherwise the salt will draw the

00:03:13moisture at the meat and drive

00:03:14okay guys do you want to sees not

00:03:15mistakes

00:03:31I’m gonna put mine in there yes pop it

00:03:40on the bars they shouldn’t take that

00:03:43long to cook and what’s going to happen

00:03:44is you’re going to see the steak cooking

00:03:46on the outside first of all and we’ll do

00:03:50almost all the cooking on that side

00:03:52there before we turn it you see it

00:03:54started see it start to change on

00:04:03okay you want to go in with your steaks

00:04:05on when you put one man one day Emily

00:04:09let’s just lay in the pants away from

00:04:12you lovely

00:04:19so let’s let the skin a little push down

00:04:22make sure to tuck in the bars properly

00:04:27and make sure it’s really nice and flat

00:04:30in there then when you turn it over it’s

00:04:31going to have the lovely bar marks on it

00:04:33at least it was really cool right you

00:04:39see how my steaks or could run the edge

00:04:42and still turn it over

00:04:49give it about one more minute and that

00:04:51should be done okay guys

00:05:19my snakes lady so I’m going to take the

00:05:21whole hope on the plate

00:05:22I don’t think yours are nearly there go

00:05:28to lift up off of the plate

00:05:46cool there’s your minute steak next

00:05:51thing we’re gonna do take a little

00:05:54finish cook steak and just give it a

00:05:57little squeeze of lemon juice a little

00:06:00drizzle of olive oil there we are

00:06:03and the juice from underneath is gonna

00:06:05be a lovely little sauce for that

00:06:06mistake okay guys there you go there’s a

00:06:11couple of bits of lemon so print it off

00:06:14your steaks

00:06:34perfect and that’s how you cook a minute

00:06:37steak
