00:00:13Australian entrepreneur she runs an
00:00:15online business and she’s asking about
00:00:17how to create a newsletter without
00:00:18spending a monthly charge to pay a
00:00:20company to help her with it
00:00:22so a newsletter is a great idea for any
00:00:24entrepreneur if you have customers who
00:00:26bought from you in the past they’re more
00:00:27likely to buy from you again if they had
00:00:29a good experience and enjoy buying from
00:00:31you so it’s a great way to stay in touch
00:00:33and send them new offers to do it
00:00:35without spending any money how I first
00:00:38did it was I’d do a mail merge between
00:00:40Excel Office and outlook so you store
00:00:43all the names of your contacts in Excel
00:00:46you create your newsletter in Word and
00:00:48then you can combine it to a mail merge
00:00:50to send it up through your elbow this
00:00:52may be a great way it’s really cheap
00:00:53doesn’t cost you anything except we’re
00:00:56buying Microsoft Office which most
00:00:57people have there are problems with it
00:00:59though something to think about as your
00:01:01newsletter list grows you could be
00:01:03limited by how many emails you can send
00:01:05per hour I found out with my internet
00:01:08service provider it was 700 so once I
00:01:10sent that 700 emails in an hour I’d get
00:01:12locked off and people think that you
00:01:14might be spamming the other thing to
00:01:16think about is if you then want to move
00:01:19to a new service so I use Aweber as an
00:01:21example I think there’s a $1 free trial
00:01:23and there’s $19 a month to get started
00:01:26so minimal investment but I think worth
00:01:28it to invest into your business to move
00:01:31people from an excel file into Aweber
00:01:34they’re gonna have to opt in again so
00:01:36you’re gonna lose a lot of people
00:01:38through that process it’s better to get
00:01:39started from the beginning using a
00:01:41software tool the other thing I really
00:01:43like about a weber is they’ll give you a
00:01:46spam filter scores so every email that
00:01:48you
00:01:49now they’ll tell you the likelihood that
00:01:50they’ll get caught in the spam filters
00:01:52of your customers and give you tips for
00:01:55how to get out of changing different
00:01:57words around and changing your layout so
00:01:59the equipment do any easy way not
00:02:01spending any money is to do the mail
00:02:03merge with Excel Word and outlook if you
00:02:07want to see how that’s done just leave a

00:02:12easy once you get started but I would
00:02:15recommend thinking about the long term
00:02:17for your business and trying to make a
00:02:19little bit more investment in your
00:02:20company and building an email newsletter
00:02:22list through a software program like
00:02:24Aweber or another company because it
00:02:27can’t have a serious impact on your
00:02:29business and it’s worth the investment
