00:00:10video edition of ask Evan in today’s
00:00:13video I want to answer a question for
00:00:15one my readers jockey who’s concerned
00:00:17about the recession and is feeling that
00:00:19people are spending less money on
00:00:21everyday items which is hurting a lot of
00:00:23small business owners who rely on those
00:00:25consumers and so Jack was asking how can
00:00:28we overcome this is entrepreneurs is
00:00:29there a way to generate more business so
00:00:32answer for you Jackie is yes people are
00:00:34spending less but they are still
00:00:36spending money and so it’s up to you to
00:00:38really differentiate your business from
00:00:40everybody else to win that market share
00:00:42so even though there’s less money out
00:00:44there there is still money there to be
00:00:45had so here’s a compliance view that
00:00:47will hopefully help you solve your
00:00:49problem the first is you want to offer
00:00:51really great customer service be as
00:00:54helpful as you can try to reach out and
00:00:56connect with your customers as much as
00:00:58you can and try to build a relationship
00:01:00with them so it’s harder for them to
00:01:02jump ship and soph mine from your go buy
00:01:05from someone else might be a little bit
00:01:06cheaper because they feel they have a
00:01:08really strong relationship with you so
00:01:10do your customers really care about you
00:01:11and it starts with you caring about them
00:01:14first so as much as you can you want to
00:01:17try to be really super helpful for your
00:01:19customers go above and beyond with your
00:01:20service if it’s just you that’s great
00:01:23but also your staff if you have it try
00:01:25to be as helpful as possible so you want
00:01:27to build that relationship so that’s the
00:01:29first step the next thing I would
00:01:31recommend is try to make it really easy
00:01:33for people to bar from you and to say
00:01:35yes so you might want to think about
00:01:36having an introductory offer for example
00:01:39have something that’s low cost is an
00:01:40entry-level gateway to start to work
00:01:43with your business and that way you can
00:01:45show what a great product or service you
00:01:47have what great service you have on top
00:01:49of it and how helpful you and your team
00:01:50are and that helps start to build the
00:01:53customer loyalty so if you have a really
00:01:55high ticket price items their way to
00:01:57make it a little bit cheaper have an
00:01:59entry level offering so that people can
00:02:02start to do business with you and
00:02:03realize what a great company you are the
00:02:06third thing I recommend is trying to get
00:02:08some social proof in there nobody wants
00:02:10to be the first to buy and there’s
00:02:12probably tons of
00:02:13for whatever you are no buying or
00:02:15selling so what you want to try to do is
00:02:17show that people really like what you’re
00:02:19up to so try to get testimonials from
00:02:21some of your customers try to use social
00:02:23media and get people you know liking you
00:02:25and giving you some tweets about your
00:02:27business and the more you can showcase
00:02:29that and show new prospective customers
00:02:31that you know they’re not going to be
00:02:33the first ones to buy from you the
00:02:35greater the chance is that you’re going
00:02:36to be able to lay that new business
00:02:38instead of your competition so I hope
00:02:40that helps don’t get too discouraged it
00:02:42is tough times and it can be really hard
00:02:44to sell to people when you know they’re
00:02:46not spending as much money but they are
00:02:48still spending money so don’t lose hope
00:02:50and you know focusing on your business
00:02:52to try to get those customers as much as
00:02:53you can I hope you liked the video if
00:02:56you did please give the thumbs up below
00:02:57I’d also love to hear your thoughts of
00:02:59feedback if you want to leave a comment
00:03:01below and stay tuned for the next
00:03:02episode
00:03:13you
