00:00:23born in Queens New York the daughter of

00:00:27childhood was spent helping her parents

00:00:28make ends meet by working at the

00:00:30family’s hardware store as she grew up

00:00:33she met Joseph Lauder a textile salesman

00:00:35who she married and moved to Manhattan

00:00:37with after the birth of her first child

00:00:39Lauder didn’t want to give up her

00:00:41professional career and experimented

00:00:44different ingredients to create a

00:00:45skincare cream for women

00:00:47she began out of her kitchen and after a

00:00:49year of hard work got her big break Saks

00:00:52Fifth Avenue agreed to carry her product

00:00:54and it sold out within two days of it

00:00:57being put on the shelves after 50-plus

00:00:59year to the top of her game Estee Lauder

00:01:02became the only woman on Time magazine’s

00:01:04list of the 20 most influential business

00:01:07geniuses of the century in 2009 at state

00:01:11ladder companies had over 7 billion

00:01:13dollars in revenue almost 30 thousand

00:01:15employees and it all began at a crowded

00:01:17kitchen table

00:01:20by starting from her kitchen table and

00:01:22by never giving up estee lauder was able

00:01:25to become the most influential business

00:01:29overcome your obstacles and grow your

00:01:31business

00:01:31here are three action items that you can

00:01:33learn from estée lauder action um

00:01:37number one don’t stop at the first note

00:01:40being an entrepreneur means you’re going

00:01:42to get a lot of rejection whether it’s

00:01:44friends and family telling you that your

00:01:46idea will never be successful or

00:01:48prospects and customers telling you they

00:01:49don’t want to buy from you you’ll get a

00:01:51lot of notes successful entrepreneurs

00:01:54pick themselves back up after rejection

00:01:56and keep improving their products and

00:01:58messaging until they get to a yes Lauda

00:02:01was known for her unwavering persistence

00:02:03when she was trying to expand her

00:02:05European market she arranged a meeting

00:02:07with a manager of galleries lafayette

00:02:09Europe’s largest department store when a

00:02:12manager said no she accidentally spilled

00:02:15her perfume samples on the floor and the

00:02:17store customers started asking how they

00:02:19could buy some of the fragrance the

00:02:21manager had to give her a contract

00:02:23according to Lauder I have never worked

00:02:26a day in my life without selling if I

00:02:28believe in something I sell it and I

00:02:31sell it hard if you have a goal if you

00:02:33want to be successful if you really want

00:02:36to do it and become another estee lauder

00:02:38you’ve got to work hard you’ve got to

00:02:40stick to it and you’ve got to believe in

00:02:42what you’re doing

00:02:47Akshat item number to love what you do

00:02:50any successful entrepreneur will tell

00:02:52you that one of the keys to their

00:02:54success is that they love what they do

00:02:55when you really love your business you

00:02:58not only enjoy it more but you put the

00:03:00kind of time and energy and that’s

00:03:01needed for a company to take off you see

00:03:04what the details constantly improve your

00:03:06offering not just because it’ll make you

00:03:08money but because you love doing it

00:03:10lahter loved her product so much that

00:03:12she paid attention to every little

00:03:14detail when she got her first deal with

00:03:16saxis Avenue she stood at the entrance

00:03:18door for an entire week and watched the

00:03:21women come in nine times out of ten the

00:03:23first place her eyes would wander would

00:03:25be to the right not to the left not

00:03:28straight ahead so she asked for her

00:03:30product we placed on the right

00:03:32according to Lauder I love my product I

00:03:35love to touch the creams smell them look

00:03:38at them carry them with me a person has

00:03:41to love her harvest if she is to expect

00:03:43others to love it

00:03:48action item number three sell sell sell

00:03:51not all entrepreneurs and natural

00:03:53salespeople but you have to learn how to

00:03:55sell if you want to build a business of

00:03:57any significant size more entrepreneurs

00:03:59fail because they can’t sell rather than

00:04:02them not having a good product or

00:04:03service

00:04:04when Lada was first getting started she

00:04:06didn’t have money to spend on

00:04:08advertising and promotions so she

00:04:09invested her time into product demos she

00:04:12began at salons hotels subway stations

00:04:15and even people on the street offering

00:04:17them a free makeover and the chance to

00:04:19buy her products she eventually moved

00:04:21the sell to the big department stores

00:04:23but it all began on a $0 budget and her

00:04:25grinding out sale after sale

00:04:27according to Lauder if you put the

00:04:30product into the customers hands it will

00:04:32speak for itself if it’s something of

00:04:34quality if you don’t sell it’s not the

00:04:36product that’s wrong it’s you

00:04:41so remember don’t stop at the first note

00:04:44love what you do and sell sell sell to

00:04:47finish this video I wanted to share one

00:04:49my favorite true stories about Estee

00:04:51Lauder and some of her top quotes one

00:04:55slaughter built up enough money to start

00:04:57a marketing campaign

00:04:58she went to various advertising agencies

00:05:00all turned her down because a company

00:05:02was too small with only $50,000 as

00:05:05friend she used her entire budget on

00:05:07samples that she would send out as

00:05:09direct mail campaigns and free gifts

00:05:11with purchases it proved to be a

00:05:13successful move and she changed the way

00:05:15beauty products were marketed
