00:00:12readers James James is a recent graduate
00:00:14from University with a Bachelor of
00:00:17Commerce degree and he’s asking if he
00:00:19should go and get a job or if you should
00:00:20start his own business
00:00:22so whenever giving career advice I
00:00:24always encourage people to really trust
00:00:26in the heart and try to follow their
00:00:28intuition I can only tell you from my
00:00:30experience what I did I also had a bunch
00:00:33of Commerce degree from University and I
00:00:35was already running my business when I
00:00:37was in University and when I was
00:00:39graduating I had a couple of offers from
00:00:42fairly large financial organizations and
00:00:45had to make a decision do I go take the
00:00:47nice high paying job or do I focus on my
00:00:50business and see if I can make it a big
00:00:52success and I was looking around and see
00:00:55what my friends are doing and some of
00:00:56them were going off into the workforce
00:00:58right away I know this we’re taking a
00:01:00year off to travel find themselves and
00:01:02then get started working so I thought
00:01:05I’m gonna take year off I’m never gonna
00:01:07focus on my business and see if I can
00:01:09make it really take off for me build
00:01:11something that can be proud of and if it
00:01:13doesn’t work out I can always come back
00:01:14those opportunities will still be there
00:01:16for me in a year if I wanted to go get a
00:01:18job and worst case scenario I learned a
00:01:21lot about running the business and now
00:01:23I’m ready to go get a job I never
00:01:25actually went back to get a job because
00:01:27my business did do well so that’s a
00:01:29success story as you get older I think
00:01:31it’s harder to have the guts to go and
00:01:34start a business once you have a family
00:01:37you start to establish your roots you
00:01:39have a lot more commitments it can be
00:01:41harder to start a business so I
00:01:42encourage young people to try to start
00:01:44the business as soon as possible
00:01:45see if entrepreneurship is for them and
00:01:47if you think you’re off to focus on that
00:01:49and see if you can make a success those
00:01:51other opportunities will still be there
00:01:53for you a year later if you wanted to go
00:01:55get a job so I hope that helps if you
