00:00:04I have a great time with my life
00:00:09and I want to share it
00:00:15I love living I think that’s infectious
00:00:19it’s something that you can’t fake
00:00:26greatness is not this wonderful esoteric
00:00:31illusive godlike feature that only the
00:00:37special among us are will ever taste you
00:00:41know it’s something that truly exists in
00:00:44all of us it’s very simple this is what
00:00:49I believe and I’m willing to die for it
00:00:53yeah period it’s that simple I Know Who
00:00:57I am I don’t know what I believe I Know
00:00:58Who I am I know who what else all I need
00:01:00to know that’s how hard you know so from
00:01:03there you do what you need to do you
00:01:05know and I think what happens is we make
00:01:08this situation more complex than it has
00:01:11to be looking for complexities got to be
00:01:13absolute and complex to understand it
00:01:15can’t be that easy no
00:01:19we didn’t grow up with the sense that
00:01:22where we were was where we were going to
00:01:25be you know we grew up with the sense
00:01:27that where we were almost didn’t matter
00:01:30because we were becoming we were
00:01:34becoming right something greater
00:01:39the separation of talent and skill is
00:01:42one of the the the greatest
00:01:45misunderstood concepts for people who
00:01:48are trying to excel who have dreams that
00:01:49want to do things talent you have
00:01:51naturally skill is only developed by
00:01:54hours and hours and hours of beating on
00:01:56your craft I’ve never really viewed
00:01:59myself as particularly talented where I
00:02:03excel is ridiculous sickening work ethic
00:02:10you know while the other guys sleeping
00:02:12I’m working what other guys eaten I’m
00:02:16working there’s no easy way around it no
00:02:19matter how talented you are your talent
00:02:21is going to fail you if you’re not
00:02:23skilled you know if you don’t study if
00:02:26you don’t work really hard and dedicate
00:02:28yourself to being better every single
00:02:30day you’ll never be able to communicate
00:02:32with with people with your artistry the
00:02:35way that you want so the only thing that
00:02:38I see that is distinctly different about
00:02:43me is I’m not afraid to die on a
00:02:46treadmill you might have more talent
00:02:49than me
00:02:49you might be smarter than me but if we
00:02:52get on the treadmill together right
00:02:54there’s two things you’re getting off
00:02:57first or I’m going to die it’s really
00:03:01that simple
00:03:05one summer his dad tore down a brick
00:03:07wall on the front of his business and
00:03:09told twelve-year-old will and his
00:03:11nine-year-old brother to rebuild it a
00:03:13job they said was impossible it took
00:03:16them a year and a half but they didn’t
00:03:18and he said now don’t you ever tell me
00:03:20it’s something that you can do you don’t
00:03:23try to build a wall you don’t set out to
00:03:26build a wall you don’t say I’m gonna
00:03:28baked it no the biggest baddest greatest
00:03:31wall that’s ever been built you don’t
00:03:33start there you say I’m going to lay
00:03:36this brick as perfectly as a brick can
00:03:40be laid and you do that every single day
00:03:43until you have as soon you have a wall
00:03:49you know it’s an idea to my grandmother
00:03:52always had you know if you’re going to
00:03:54be here then there’s a necessity to make
00:03:57a difference
00:03:58she always instilled the responsibility
00:04:00to spiritual responsibility that you
00:04:03have to make every group you come in
00:04:05contact with better I want to do good I
00:04:08want the world to be better because I
00:04:10was here I want my life I want my my
00:04:14work my family I wanted to mean
00:04:17something and it’s like it has if you
00:04:20are not making someone else’s life
00:04:22better than you’re wasting your time you
00:04:26know like that your life will become
00:04:27better by making other lives better
00:04:34I want to represent an idea i want to
00:04:37represent possibilities i want to
00:04:39represent the idea that you really can
00:04:43make what you want one of my favorite
00:04:45books is the The Alchemist Paulo Coelho
00:04:50and that’s just I just believe that I
00:04:54believe that I can create whatever I
00:04:58want to create
00:05:03the first step before anybody else in
00:05:07the world believes it is you have to
00:05:09believe it there’s no reason to have a
00:05:11plan B because it distracts from plan a
00:05:13I think that there’s a certain
00:05:17delusional quality that all successful
00:05:22people have to have you have to believe
00:05:26that something different than what has
00:05:28happened for the last 50 to 80 years of
00:05:33history you have to believe that
00:05:35something different can happen if
00:05:37Confucius said he who says he can and he
00:05:43who says he can’t are both usually right
00:05:49being realistic is the most commonly
00:05:52travel road to mediocrity why would you
00:05:56be realistic what’s the point of being
00:05:58realistic
00:05:59just put up a barrier yeah I’m gonna do
00:06:02it it’s done
00:06:02it’s already done the second I decide is
00:06:04done it’s already done so now we just
00:06:06gotta wait for y’all to see it’s
00:06:07unrealistic to water switch and Mike as
00:06:12a realist
00:06:13fortunately fences in baseball is it
00:06:15unrealistic particular bend a piece of
00:06:18metal and black people over a notion in
00:06:21that net that’s unrealistic but
00:06:24fortunately the Wright brothers and
00:06:26others they didn’t believe that and it
00:06:29just seems it just seems like such a
00:06:32ridiculous idea to me to embrace the
00:06:37idea that it’s not what happened that’s
00:06:40not real for that to happen as soon as
00:06:44you say now you just made everyone
00:06:49our thoughts our feelings our dreams our
00:06:53ideas our physical in the universe that
00:06:58if we dream something we picture
00:07:01something we commit ourselves to it that
00:07:04is a physical thrust towards realization
00:07:08that we can put into the universe that
00:07:11the universe is another thing that sort
00:07:13of push us around and the world and
00:07:15people situations are not something
00:07:18everyone pushes around that we are going
00:07:20to visit the University Mountain and
00:07:22demanded universe become what we wanted
00:07:26to be I study the patterns of the
00:07:30universe there’s a redemptive power that
00:07:34making a choice has you know rather than
00:07:38feeling like you’re at a fete to all the
00:07:41things that are happening make a choice
00:07:45like you just decide what is going to be
00:07:49who you’re going to be how you’re going
00:07:51to do it just decide and then from that
00:07:54point the universe is going to get out
00:07:57your way it’s like it’s water it wants
00:07:58to it wants to move and go around stuff
00:08:01you know you know there’s a there’s a
00:08:03flow of the universe that I’ve grown to
00:08:05know just how to go with it
00:08:11I realized that when to have the level
00:08:14of success that I want to have it’s
00:08:17difficult to spread it out and do
00:08:19multiple things it takes such a
00:08:22desperate obsessive focus you really got
00:08:25to focus with all of your fiber and all
00:08:28your heart and all your creativity
00:08:34evaded by fear fear you know fear of
00:08:39what ex fear of fear
00:08:42I hate being scared to do something and
00:08:46I think what developed in my in my early
00:08:49days was the the attitude that I started
00:08:54attacking things that I was scared of it
00:08:58was Franklin Roosevelt said the only
00:08:59fear you have the fear is fear itself
00:09:00absolutely more than absolutely
00:09:06you can’t be scared to die for the truth
00:09:11the truth is the only thing that’s ever
00:09:14going to be constant
00:09:18don’t ever let somebody tell you you
00:09:21can’t do something not even me
00:09:28all right you got a dream
00:09:34you got to protect it
00:09:37people can’t do something themselves
00:09:39they want to tell you you can do it
00:09:45you want something go get it period
