00:00:00the beauty and value of the perfume is
00:00:04not only in the inside we’re also in the
00:00:06outside hi I’m Vanessa valletta we
00:00:08watchmojo.com and you might not know the
00:00:10name cody but cody is the world’s
00:00:12largest fragrance company with brands
00:00:15such as Jennifer Lopez Marc Jacobs
00:00:17Celine Dion and one Stefani we’re joined
00:00:21today by the president and general
00:00:22manager of Cody Jeffrey wack stuff is
00:00:25going to talk to us about the exciting
00:00:27collection can you tell us a little bit
00:00:29about Cody collection Cody collection is
00:00:31a what as we say is a collection of some
00:00:34of our most famous and historical
00:00:37bottles from the past and we try and tie
00:00:39it as well to the present of code was
00:00:42the inspiration behind the collection
00:00:43why was it developed we really wanted to
00:00:46celebrate the heritage of francois cody
00:00:49and what he meant to the modern
00:00:50fragrance industry a lot of people say
00:00:52that Francois Cody is the one who
00:00:54started that this is back in 1904 when
00:00:57he introduced his new fragrance his
00:00:59first fragrance to the market before
00:01:01that you would go into a pharmacy store
00:01:03and a and the pharmacist would mix up
00:01:06some oils and put it in a little glass
00:01:08bottle for you but Francois had the idea
00:01:11to put that into a bottle to create
00:01:13pieces of art to give them a name how
00:01:16can we differentiate the bottles from
00:01:18each other what is unique about each
00:01:19bottle there are two main designers that
00:01:22Francois used and really some people say
00:01:25gave their start his letter start to one
00:01:28was rene lalique and he really started
00:01:30with Francois he became very popular
00:01:32because of the design work that he did
00:01:34with Francois as I said before what
00:01:36Francois was trying to do was not only
00:01:38create product but also create pieces of
00:01:41art and he was so enamored by Renee’s
00:01:44work that he commissioned him to I try
00:01:47to understand what he was trying to do
00:01:48with a brand and give his interpretation
00:01:50into the in the bottle and the other the
00:01:54other common design that he used a very
00:01:56famous design that used the beginners
00:01:58background which was a very different
00:01:59design not as complex but still very
00:02:03very beautiful in terms of its angles
00:02:05and the way the light played off the
00:02:06bottle
00:02:07so two very very different but very
00:02:09famous looks that fast why to employ to
00:02:12bring his fragrances to the public there
00:02:14are personal significance behind the
00:02:16kata collection for you yes I i think
00:02:19that with françoise’s History and
00:02:21ourselves as a company being the leaders
00:02:24in the fragrance industry today again
00:02:27we’re very proud to really bring that
00:02:30heritage that story back to to the
00:02:32public it’s a great story story in many
00:02:35ways that people had forgotten about or
00:02:37hadn’t been told in many years so when
00:02:39we started done to uncover this when we
00:02:41started to research and talk to some
00:02:43people who remember those days a
00:02:46Francois Cody either through their
00:02:47relatives or through their own research
00:02:49hey we start piece together a very
00:02:52interesting story we want to share
00:02:53whatever thank you so much for all the
00:02:55helpful information and giving us a tour
