Inside a Tornado | National Geographic

00:00:23okay just say no the tornados latitudes

00:00:25now

00:00:43I just don’t think you’re gonna see

00:00:46anything right now there’s a lot of

00:00:47precip surrounding what’s a little

00:00:50tornado in the center so there’s a big

00:00:51eye and a little eye so it’s gonna be

00:00:54very hard to see it’s something when you

00:00:56can see the tornado coming at you and

00:00:58you can prepare yourself to be hit

00:01:00there’s another thing to kind of have

00:01:01your eyes closed and to have this

00:01:03monster that’s kind of lurking in this

00:01:05huge frame curtain

00:01:09Josh now directs tip toward the

00:01:11intercept Sean takes the ready position

00:01:15pointing the front of the tip into the

00:01:18tornado the front is designed to

00:01:21withstand the most violent winds and

00:01:23debris

00:01:35it

00:01:37regular water

00:01:48wind speeds outside reach nearly a

00:01:50hundred and five miles per hour but the

00:01:54science data logger attached to the

00:01:56instruments on the tip isn’t recording

00:01:58and Sean abandons his IMAX camera

00:02:02because it’s too dark

00:02:05still the basic idea worked

00:02:08they found a tornado and they

00:02:10intercepted

00:02:25you wouldn’t call it a dry run but it

00:02:28was a great test drive
