How to Get a British Accent – Lesson One – “The Glottal T and the True T”

Hello everyone! Welcome to our new course series!

This time, we will explore how to learn English accents.

I said it was an English accent, but true, I mean London.

Why is London? Because, first, it’s my accent,

Then, second, because

Well, let’s talk about it first…

Harry Potter is not from Manchester.

If he really came from Manchester, he would not be so cool.

Therefore, there is a trick for these courses:

You must study according to the correct course sequence.

Can understand it correctly

Then use English accent correctly.

Are you ready? Let’s start!

Today, we will explore Deep Throat pronunciation “T” and official pronunciation of “T”.

What are they?

Um, I believe you have heard the English pronunciation

“Water”.

It has a middle T

but,

As usual,

It’s not always, but usually, British people don’t pronounce T

When we pronounce it, it is as if it is deep in the throat.

like this:

Wa’er (T pronounced as deep throat)

Wa’er

This pronunciation, it is sometimes replaced with a nickname.

It sounds like Uh-Oh’s middle tone

It’s from deep in the throat. It’s called Deep Throat.

Obviously, not just the word water,

There are other words:

Bottle

Will become

Bo’le (T pronounced as deep throat)

So this T

When you spell it is there

But when you read it,

It is a bit like bo’le.

Button will become

Bu’on (T in the word as deep throat pronunciation)

Other words such as great

Will become grea’ (T in the word as deep throat pronunciation)

You will generally hear this

Words ending with T are the most

E.g:

But (bu’), It (i’),

That (tha’), Not (no’)

And all the minor forms of abbreviations

Such as: Can’t (can’)

Couldn’t (couldn’)

Don’t (don’)

Wouldn’t (wouldn’)

Shouldn’t (shouldn’)

Musn’t (musn’)

One common question is: Does this sound unofficial or stupid?

Uh,

If you use too much, it will be as you ask.

We don’t use deep-throat T and formal T every time.

When you mix the two it will sound more natural

For example, a sentence such as:

A little bit”

You can pronounce both T

But the more natural way is:

Mixed sound

Like this, for example:

“A li’le bit” (T is pronounced as deep throat in little)

Or “A li’le bi’ (deep and deep trumpet both for little and bit)

You can use deep-throat T

You can also use a deep throat T with a formal tone T

This is just for you, but the mixture of the two will sound more natural.

But, again, you don’t want to sound every T, because it really sounds silly.

Some words you should never use deep-throat T, because it will always sound silly, for the reason.

For example, like “mountain”

We never pronounced moun’ain (deep guttural tone T)

It sounds horrible ~.

The word “hotel” is also the same

Do not, we never say to be ho’el (deep larynx T)

Do not, this. . . This sounds terrible!

and so,

This is the course of the pronunciation of Deep Throat T and Form T.

Remember: Mix them together

Did not always use the deep-throat T, nor does it always use the formal pronunciation T

Mix the two in sentences

This way you sound more natural.

OK, we’ll see you in the next class!

Okay, its stress is “-lice”

Stress is here
