Negative G’s in My Old Airplane!

Ok people, look.

I got super exciting news this morning.

12 years ago I sold my fishing tackle to someone in Canada.

And he just sent me a message that he is here to visit America.

And he wants to take me on a ride, and this is what we are going to do.

How is george doing?

Thank you, good to see you! How are you?

I have to admit, it makes you want to be back at a small airport, it is very nostalgic.

You know, the weirdest feeling now, George, it’s like I never left it.

This is a cessna 120, it has a wheel at the back.

And I sold him to this man.

George!

12 years ago and now he is back here.

He asked me if I wanted to go on a ride and I said “yes”.

And we’re going to go upstairs and play with the mountains and clouds today, and we’ll take you.

I feel like I can jump in and continue doing what I stopped doing.

The reason I bought it, 15 years ago, is because it was ironically cheaper to buy one yourself than to rent one from a school and have the same flying hours.

So instead of going to a school and paying thousands of euros in studies …

… I bought myself an airplane and taught myself to fly.

… passed the exam and came out with the same certificates that I would have had with a school.

But the difference was that I now had a plane that I could sell and so earn my money back.

And that put me in a unique position to be one of the few pilots without a student loan.

These small plates move up and down. This calls aerlons and turns the plane from side to side.

And what is unique about the cessna 120 is that it has no flaps like most planes.

Every other plane that is here has flaps.

Flaps cause more friction, which slows you down, but you can also fly slower before you fall out of the sky

and makes it easier to land.

Having no flaps is therefore an additional challenge to have a perfect landing.

but after 1000 hours of flying I felt like I was connected to this plane.

Here is fuel.

Ok fingers crossed that the camera stays straight.

Here we go!

Haha! as if you’ve never been away.

That’s right!

Well done.

Cool!

Cola zero, we take this to zero gravity

Here’s how it works …

We’re going upstairs

and we’re going down.

Nice landing in the back.

Are you already feeling sick?

No!

I do.

So cool.

My stomach now feels weird.

very good

We did it.

It is good that this camera has a stabilization

because that was so great, I am trembling

This was such an exciting day!

We have done a few good turns

and that was empty the battery and I switched to my go-pro

So I keep my fingers crossed that we still have the video material.

And what’s cool is that I left the airport a few months ago

and I just got a tendency to fly again

And then this man sends me a message to start flying with my old plane

What was 12 years ago since I saw this thing.

this is a special experience for me.

I was glad you were here and part of it and saw what we saw.

It was a lot of fun

I was a little bad with my departure and landings

but we eventually made it

so thank you very much george, thank you!

I appreciate it.

you’re welcome

as if you’ve never been away

thank you for watching this Video and I’ll see you on the next adventure. see yes then.
