hello I introduce myself my name is
Roman Cazalis I’m 46 years old and like
obelix I fell in when
I was small step in the potion
magic of course in
electronics
at 12 years old I’m starting to hack my
first fixtures at 16 years old I am assembling
my first computer that I got
bought in spare parts at 19
I joined an engineering school
in 24 years I do my job that makes
so now a little over 20 years in
2011
I embark on tackling a start up that
starts five years later we are
150 have developed so-called products that
we sell all over the world
that’s it for the presentations if I
am in front of you tonight it’s for you
talk of renaissance rebirth
technology obviously that of
connected objects
what is a connected object
take any object that exists
already
add an internet connection without
wire of preference and you have a
connected object
it’s simple, not the first object of which
certainly everyone has heard
talk here is the fridge me I
would like to add the drones
camera scales watches
cameras of cars
the list is infinite the first example
which I would like to talk to you tonight is
a product released in 2012 the station
weather station weather is manufactured
millions every year
they measure the
temperature humidity pressure
atmospheric inside as at
outside of home all these
values are displayed on a large
LCD screen very well
now remove the screen a little
ugly
add a wifi chip and you get
a weather station connect you
now have the same measures
but on a beautiful color screen the one that
you always have in your pocket
the smartphone to complete these
measures this station has a
sound meter to measure ambient noise
and a co2 sensor through these
air quality indicators she me
helps improve my comfort at
daily
take the co2 it’s a wonderful
containment indicators if one or
several people are in the same
piece
the co2 rate climbs the co2 does not
odor and is not toxic at the same time
time to high dose fatigue and to very
high doses it tomorrow to was this
station so warns you when the
co2 rate is too high she
lights up red and sends you a
notification in your phone for
recommend opening the window
these smart no
as a second example I’m going to talk
a newer product the thermostat
that of my boiler play them replace them
by a connected thermostat that me
allows you to control my
remote boiler since a
computer or my phone
the benefits are many first I
maximizes my energy savings because
the settings possibilities are
almost infinite much better than
from my old thermostat before for
set weekly schedule
I had to scroll two best
by half hour the seven days of the
week
if I had the misfortune to fool myself
had to start all over again since
start a real nightmare
more than 300 clicks of buttons with the
version know you are everything is simple
easy to use and adjust everything
done in a few seconds on the
phone more like he knows where
I live he is able to fetch
on weather sites on the internet
the temperature it does at
outside my home he uses it
to anticipate the time it will take to
the boiler to go from 17 to 20
degrees in the early morning
if it’s minus five gold it starts at
the boiler rather than if it does more
And of course when I leave
holidays i can cut the heating
I can turn it back on a few hours
before coming back one day I left my
15 year old girl at home she was
stuck and could not go go
in high school suddenly I realized
that heating go this cut since
normally on weekdays there is nobody to
the house is really silly
to let someone stuck in a
cold house and well no problem
from my office I handed the instructions
only 20 degrees for the whole day
as a final example I’m going to talk about
products that we all use here
several times a day the instructors
and the catches
so unfortunately they are not
still available but they will be
in less than a year
these devices these new devices
will look exactly like the model that
we currently know it is
will hook up with two wires and they will
interconnected internet
brace will use the same way if
I press the button
obviously the light comes on but in
the more I could go to order at
distance taking it will be able to
measure the consumption of the device
which is plugged in it is ideal
to monitor his fridge or his
freezer she will be able to you
warn when it breaks down or
in case of power failure for
switches you never had
want to move 1 or add a
in one room and well it will be easy
the battery-powered version more you son
will not have to run the queues anymore
on complaints make bleeding
in the walls you would place them where
you want and even on a piece of furniture
if it sings you there and repositionable
you want to move the bed to the
right
problem you take it he will follow the
bed we can change his installation
without the intervention of a
electrician and finally he will exist
special remotes that
will allow to play scenarios
preprogrammed for example the last
lying in the room of parents who
Turn off all lights
the last party at the front door
which in addition closes the shutters or the
presence simulation that will light is
an arm in a random way
all the rooms in your house
when you are absent brief that’s for
interests the benefits of objects
connected
but if you followed what is it at
just
it’s the rebirth of the house
smart and it will be everywhere
within five years there will be several
dozens in all the houses
why for three main reasons
the first the availability of the
wireless internet connection is
everywhere do the exercise
go out in the street a number of
phone count the number of
wifi networks could capture these
fascinating I did the exercise
just behind the media library jean
captures this second reason the price
here is a good wifi chip so that’s right
that by preparing this presentation I
I had been told that I would show
things was more alive I was not going
not use the overhead projector
here I can not do without it I think
that basically nobody sees anything here is the
only image that I want to show you
the wifi type in big in five years
activity in this sector
the price of these components has been
divided by 3 that means that
to add the login function to
internet cost less and less
dear and so the price difference
between a classic camera and a
connected device var completely
disappear and for the third
reason the ease of use the
user interfaces are becoming
more intuitive it takes at least less
to press his button to achieve such
or such function
but a real revolution is in the process
to arrive
artificial intelligence she does
her appearance and she will upset
the uses of connected objects
we will no longer use our remote
to control our devices we will
to talk we will dialogue with our objects
connected as we would with
someone and besides let me you
introduce alexa
she is creating a company
American and is not available
commercially in France why because
that today she only understands
English but rest assured she
learn French and she
will not be long in arriving
a little demonstration then we’ll
ask him for a calculation I know this
piece is 15 meters wide
19 meters long I want to ask him
to calculate the area in English
of course alex a are much fft in
town norrington this piece does so
of 185 square meters you go in
australia you want to know the rate
currency exchange
alexa australian armenia in the tea
new year 38 dollars for one euro and their
local alex at houat times and lcd and
these devices will be so
able to understand the language
natural to interpret it to go
search for information on the internet and
to answer them
you can ask him all
questions that goes through your head
then ask to play music
a cooking recipe spelling
of a word and remember everything to
now I have told you
switches connect you to go
voice command could tell him
to turn on or off in the kitchen
or in the living room shut the shutters when
you leave everything will be much more
simple no longer need to be a geek or a
techie
even those who do not know very well
still serve as a tablet or a
smartphone the language this will be very
simple this is the rebirth of the
smart home
[Applause]
you can not sweat write off
