TOO & ENOUGH | English Grammar Lesson

Hi, I’m Emma from English

I am very hungry and can not concentrate

You are good enough to start an English conversation

I did not get enough time

In this lesson, you will learn how to use

These small and useful words are correct in English sentences.

too and enough

Both of these words indicate a degree.

They give us more information about

An adjective, circumstance or noun.

I am too hungry to concentrate or concentrate

So, here “too too” means it

More than what is needed or what is needed.

So, they are usually something negative!

You are over starving!

This is really frustrating for you

Because you can not focus!

I am very hungry in order to be wrapped

You are good enough to start a conversation in English

So here, “Enough is enough or enough enough” tells us

It is the amount we want or need.

It’s the right amount and that’s positive!

You have what is required, you are good enough.

You’re not good enough

Ouch! That was really rewarding

Not enough means it

Less than the amount you want or need.

It’s something really negative. It’s a little lame thing to say. You are not good enough

So, let’s look at the structures for each of these words

With qualities and conditions first.

If “Enough Too” comes before the character or circumstance

It is driving very fast or very fast

You speak quickly to me

He is too old to drive

Remember to use ‘too’ with an attribute

Or a circumstance usually refers to something negative.

It is more than what is needed or needed.

Therefore, it is not correct to say that the film was “too good”

When you really enjoy it!

It is also not correct to say that your friend is “too funny”.

Because they seem very strange to English speakers as their mother

Because they indicate it more than you want

Or what you need.

Use ‘very’ or ‘really’ or ‘so’ instead

Your friend is very funny

The film was really good

That sounds better!

There are some exceptions to this though,

When you speak colloquially

– Especially in Australia, which I’m from!

Such as … For example, if someone asks me,

“how are you?”

Maybe I’ll say: “OK.”

This is very common in Australia and that means ‘good’

But this is an exception.

Well, what about “enough enough”?

“Enough enough” comes after a recipe or circumstance.

I am strong enough to raise these funds

It’s warm enough to go for the swan

He is sufficiently fulfilling to perform on stage

You are here enough and you may live here

Now, what about when “enough is enough” used

In a negative sentence?

“Enough is enough or enough” comes after a recipe or circumstance

But “do not” come before.

This has the same meaning as “I am very weak.”

… which means “it’s too cool ‘!

You can also use ‘Find Too A’ and ‘Enough Enough’ with the names. Using “much or more”

So again, this means that we have more “more” of the name

What we want or need.

You will choose ‘many many’ if the name is numbered.

You will choose “much much”

If it is a non-numbered name.

There are so many people here

Powell has a lot of furniture in this room

I have a lot of options I can not decide

You can never give a lot of tips

Now, if you are not sure

Any names are longer and longer,

You have to check out this lesson here

Because I’ll explain it to you there!

So, what about “enough”?

Well, with the name “Enough Enough” come before the name.

Again, this means that we have the right amount,

The amount we want and need.

I have enough time

There are enough seats in the car you must come

We have enough money to buy

To make these sentences negative we add ‘no not’

– Usually before the main verb.

And do ‘be’ is part of the exception here, for this rule.

The structure is slightly different.

When the verb “be” is the main verb,

Then ‘do not come’ after the main verb.

So, these few helpful words will definitely help you

To express yourself more clearly in English

Now you know exactly how to use it correctly.

Make sure you exercise.

Type some examples if you want,

Add them in the comments below!

Remember that ‘too too’

Means that it is more than enough.

‘Enough enough’ is the amount needed, it’s the amount specified.

And “not enough enough” is less than enough.
