00:00:15upside down with the lids on a clean tea
00:00:18towel so they’re as clean as I can get
00:00:20them before sterilization I’ve got
00:00:23myself here an aluminium tray can be any
00:00:26old metal tray as long as it goes in the
00:00:28oven that’s fine I’m going to take my
00:00:30jars place them on the tray not touching
00:00:38each other and then I’m going to pop
00:00:43this tray in a preheated oven at 180
00:00:46degrees so the trains go in the oven so
00:00:56the jars go in the oven at 180 degrees
00:00:58for 10 minutes know the lids obviously
00:01:04need to be sterilized to no point in
00:01:06sterilizing the jar and not the lid so
00:01:11I’m going to pop these in a pan full of
00:01:13boiling water for about the same amount
00:01:15of time
00:01:24nothing else in here
00:01:25apart from water turn upside down to the
00:01:30sink there after 10 minutes I’m going to
00:01:36take my tray of jars out of the oven the
00:01:42nice and hot and sterilized I’m going to
00:01:45pop them here and they’re ready to be
00:01:48filled with Jam pickle chutney whatever
00:01:50you whatever you’re making I put my
00:01:52clean dish towel there and out of the
00:01:55water with my tongs
00:01:57I’m going to pick my sterilized lids and
00:02:01pop them upside down onto my clean tea
00:02:05towel so here my clean hot sterilized
00:02:09jam jars and here I have my lids which
00:02:14are sterilized and ready to be screwed
00:02:16on the top it’s very important to clean
00:02:20your jam jars and make them as sterile
00:02:21as possible
00:02:22before you fill them with anything to
00:02:24make sure that there’s no organism no
00:02:26nasty bug in there that’s going to make
00:02:28people sick when they eat whatever you
00:02:30put inside and that’s how to sterilize
00:02:33jars
