00:00:00all right asparagus a lovely tasty green

00:00:03vegetable that grows out of the ground

00:00:05it’s a it grows all around the world in

00:00:08this country its season is sort of

00:00:10Easter until the summer

00:00:12roughly round about them but you can get

00:00:14it from Spain and from South America and

00:00:17Africa and all kinds of other countries

00:00:18at different times of the year but the

00:00:20fresh asparagus is really really good

00:00:22it’s very tasty and it’s very very easy

00:00:24to prep I’m just gonna show you how to

00:00:27do it

00:00:27lettuce spears at the top is tenderest

00:00:32tasty a little bit and as you go down

00:00:34this fear it gets tougher and tougher

00:00:35until you get to the end which is a bit

00:00:38you don’t really want to meet it’s quite

00:00:40woody and hardness and you have to chew

00:00:42it a lot to eat it’s not very nice so to

00:00:45prep it more you do let’s take the spear

00:00:47hold hold it gently in one hand and snap

00:00:50the bottom off and it always brings at

00:00:52the right spot so it may not be the same

00:00:55place on every spear so that one broke

00:00:58in a slightly different place but it

00:01:01always breaks then stalk it’s too tough

00:01:05to eat like that really simple don’t

00:01:08have a go

00:01:18that’s it

00:01:23simple these are the bits that you don’t

00:01:26want these stocky bits here we normally

00:01:29just throw them away you can if you want

00:01:31use them to make soup but generally we

00:01:34just throw them or throw them away and

00:01:37things bits to the bits we want to keep
