00:00:11one of my readers the mighty Gilda hope
00:00:14I pronounced that properly she is a
00:00:17mother and an entrepreneur and is having
00:00:19a hard time balancing her career and her
00:00:22family life as well and is wondering if
00:00:25I could give her some advice so you are
00:00:28not alone time management is one of the
00:00:30biggest issues that entrepreneurs are
00:00:32facing trying to figure out what the
00:00:34focus on with the business and have it
00:00:36all balance out with with the work life
00:00:38as well so the things that I would try
00:00:41to remind you of things to focus on is
00:00:43look at the things that you can do that
00:00:46give the most value to your customers
00:00:48where you can have the biggest impact we
00:00:50can be the most helpful and try to focus
00:00:53on those things those things that you’re
00:00:55really good at that you know can help a
00:00:56lot of people really help your target
00:00:59customer is that’s unique value that you
00:01:01can bring so you want to really make
00:01:02sure you’re spending time doing that and
00:01:04everything else you want to slowly
00:01:06eliminate delegate and automate a way so
00:01:10that you know you have time to focus on
00:01:12what you’re really good at so quickly
00:01:13about my story and I was not that great
00:01:16when i first started up as well the time
00:01:18management and the first part was
00:01:20illuminating so look at all the things
00:01:22that you’re doing that you might think
00:01:23out a lot of value but don’t really a
00:01:26good story for me was I used to take
00:01:28minute notes so we had when we had
00:01:31meetings I would always take notes of
00:01:33the minute so what we talked about a
00:01:35summary of the conversation and I’m
00:01:37taking a long time to make these minutes
00:01:39and then I send it off the people and
00:01:40figured all this is great value that I’m
00:01:42adding on top and it turned out people
00:01:45didn’t really care about my my minute
00:01:47notes so I was spent all this time to do
00:01:50something
00:01:50wasn’t really value I so I eliminated it
00:01:54and there’s a lot of other things you
00:01:55can probably eliminate from your day to
00:01:57day that probably is not useful or that
00:02:00valuable the next step we want to look
00:02:02at is automated so what are some of the
00:02:04tasks that you do that you can automate
00:02:06to make your life a lot easier great
00:02:09story for me was using accounting
00:02:10software it’s so easy to do my annual
00:02:14and quarterly books just download all my
00:02:16statements in my accounting software
00:02:18takes you 20 minutes every quarter and
00:02:20I’m done so looking technology is a way
00:02:24to automate some of the things that
00:02:25you’re doing that might be really
00:02:26time-consuming that hopefully you can
00:02:29take out the plate and automate over 10
00:02:31technology the last bread is delegating
00:02:33and you want to make sure you go in that
00:02:36order where you’re eliminating first
00:02:37then you’re automating and then you’re
00:02:39delegating this delegating is likely
00:02:41going to be the most expensive part and
00:02:42that’s what you’re giving past to other
00:02:44people and it doesn’t have to start off
00:02:46doing full time you hire somebody it
00:02:49cost you a lot of money and you know you
00:02:51start going bankrupt but if you can hire
00:02:53somebody even for short amount of time
00:02:55the first person I hired was for one
00:02:57hour a day and you would do some data
00:02:59entry for me and that saved me one hour
00:03:01a day so now I had an hour to focus on
00:03:03growing my business so think about some
00:03:06of the facts you can do that you can
00:03:07delegate away as well they’re great
00:03:09services now like odesk and Alliance we
00:03:11can find people may not work you know
00:03:14close to you but can be in different
00:03:16countries and spread out and can do a
00:03:18lot of the pass Hugh at pretty good
00:03:20wages and that can really help you grow
00:03:23your business and help you focus on some
00:03:24of the things that you’re really good at
00:03:26okay so focus on what your your
00:03:29strengths are we can add the most value
00:03:30be the most helpful to your customers
00:03:33then look at how you can eliminate
00:03:35automate and delegate everything else
00:03:38away and hopefully they don’t give you
00:03:40the stepping stones you need to build
